I don't think anyone knows just yet. I'm sure the digital code will be the new restoration, but I don't know about the disc.

If TSitS does turn out to be the new transfer on the disc (O Happy Day!), to me that is another way in which Disney has been doing well lately (a few of the remakes aside, lol). Between Melody Time, Make Mine Music, The Black Cauldron, The Proud Family, Chip N Dale, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, Cinderella, and now TSitS--that's a pretty great two years for releases considering how little expectation I've had about getting much of anything noteworthy out of modern Disney since the Diamond line ended way back when. And I hope they keep going and give us some more TV series on Blu-ray, too (TLM, Aladdin, Hercules, New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, etc.) and, of course, I'd be up for them continuing the same restoration for Cinderella with all the classics along with original poster covers like this. :P

I think I fell so far out of Disney releases once they stopped releasing them in my country. I can't just get them all imported because it would be hugely expensive but I think I'll try to get some deserving ones - Cinderella, for example. Maybe even upgrade some of my titles to 4K while I'm at it. I just feel kinda lost right now rotfl

I don't know if it's like Bambi and Cinderella, or the other films (5 minutes of Walt talking about the film).
A special feature with this exact name (and probably exact same content) is already on the Peter Pan platinum edition DVD and probably other versions after that. Just a re-issue of this? Wouldn’t be terribly surprising since one of the “exclusive” and “new” deleted scenes that are on the Marvel Infinity Saga Box set Blu-ray is a deleted scene that’s already on the Thor 1 Blu-Ray And possibly DVD: Warriors 3 and Sif In New Mexico a.k.a. Volstagg Likes Burgers Or something as it’s renamed there……

Apparently the DMC responded to some question or other saying that the TSitS release is just the old disc re-packaged. :/ :( So disappointing.

Disney Japan released on August 23, 2023 four animated classics with their live-action counterparts in limited edition Blu-ray/DVD/CD box sets as part of the Disney100 celebration. Strange they didn't release one for The Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty/Maleficent.

Jeeze, so we still don't have a decent transfer of Sword in the Stone in Hd anywhere then?

Yeah, so sad. I will still continue to hope for TSitS to get a proper release though.

Those original-remake combo sets are all very pretty / tasteful, probably better than the remakes deserve really. Those kinds of things are for casuals though more than hard-core fans, I imagine; at least I see that as the way Disney was trying to draw more sales of the original films at the same time. Was that cover for the original Mulan a BestBuy steelbook? I remember it, but I forget where it was an exclusive at.

No, the Best Buy and Target exclusives had different covers. The black-and-white variation of that cover was used as a RealD 3D poster and a Disney+ poster.

There aren’t enough DACs and Pixar films to make 100. So curious what the filler will be… in that clip they say specifically “Disney and Pixar” so it’s unlikely to include anything from the Fox acquisition.

You know what, this is just going to be a repackage of previously released discs. So many DACs have been released with their DTV sequel on the same disc… so it might be things like Pocahontas II, Mulan II, Fox and the Hound 2, etc.

Now I need to look up how many movies were released in 2 movie collections back in the day.

That’s actually a really cool idea for a DVD set themed to 100 years of Disney films and I’m glad that they’re prioritizing the animated features. I like how when you open a volume, it opens up like a storybook and the original posters are there, although I’m a bit adamant about some of the movies they choose to put there in order to make it to a hundred (James and the Giant Peach, Return to Neverland, Tinker Bell, Planes and it’s sequel) but I’m happy that The Nightmare Before Christmas, A Goofy Movie and Frankenweenie are there in the collection. Too bad I can’t afford it though… :P
Favorite Things Right Now:
1. edamame by bbno$ and Rich Brian (Song)
2. Jujutsu Kaisen (Anime)
3. Ma Baker by Boney M. (Song)
4. The Boy and the Heron (Movie)
5. Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield (Song)

Does that mean a few Pixar films are the ONLY movies getting bonus feature discs, or most films get bonus feature discs, except when it comes to Pixar films, only a few get bonus discs?

I doubt that the package films, The Rescuers, TBC, etc.,would get bonus discs, so probably only a few Pixar films also include bonus discs.

Thank you for sharing, Farerb! I think this the first time in the US that Disney has released a set of all their animated movies. Personally, not interested in buying this set.

I was curious to see if any of these titles were new to Blu-ray and I think the only one is “Pooh’s Heffalump Movie.”

I might be wrong, but I don’t think any DACs have been released as 2-disc Blu ray sets. Even the premium lines like Diamond*/Signature/whatever have 1 Blu ray disc for the movie and all the bonus features. In the early days of Blu ray, at least, I don’t know about recently, Pixar still did 2 disc sets with the movie on disc 1 and most of the bonus features on disc 2.

*Some of the earliest Diamonds like BATB and Snow White did include 2 Blu ray discs but subsequent reissues have only included 1 Blu ray disc

Yes, the posters and the fact that it opens like a storybook are cool and I agree about the rest you said too. I'm personally not interested in getting it since I own most of those films, but I wish they sold each title individually as well, so I could buy the package features that I still don't have on Blu-ray.

That's cool, pretty, but not necessary for me as I own the majority of these. It's nice to see that Disney hasn't entirely given up on physical media, though!

Eh, it looks cheap despite costing so much. I hate that type of cardboard packaging. It's very difficult to remove the discs and put them back and they always end up getting scratched. Not to mention, they didn't bother produce anything new for the set like a new restoration or new extras or documentaries. It feels like they cobbled something together from what they already had at the last minute. The selection of titles is also eyebrow-raising. I understand they needed 100 titles, but the spots could have been fulfilled by WDAS-related MovieToons/DisneyToon/DTVA productions. There's no thought put into the selection. It's a pass from me as well.

I have no intention of buying it, but I feel a set like this would have greatly benefited from including Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, So Dear to My Heart and other hybrid features, instead of the likes of The Jungle Book 2, Tinker Bell, Return to Never Land, Pooh sequels, and... Planes? (WTF?) In fact, it could have been an easy eight-for-eight switch, and (not that it would realistically ever happen) they could have used the opportunity to finally release Song of the South on BD/DVD. That alone would have justified its exorbitant price. I'd assume that majority of Disney fans already own all or most of these films, and I don't think that cardboard "storybook" packaging is as big of a flex/incentive as Disney apparently thinks it is. Most families with kids won't be shelling out a large sum of money for something they can otherwise pick up from a $5 movie bin. It seems like the idea behind it was, eh, let's just group all the theatrical releases together, but other than that, what really differentiates Piglet's Big Movie from, say, Cinderella 2?

Speaking of which, does anyone know what was the rationale behind choosing the Jungle Book and Peter Pan sequels for a theatrical release? The studio was that confident in their quality?
