Well, if it isn't gone, West End isn't reopening, so I really hope it is gone asap

Wow. I knew it wasn't performing as well as Disney was hoping, but I didn't expect it would close so soon. The pandemic isn't the reason they're closing as Disney claims. If that were the case, all of their shows on Broadway would be closing. They're just trying to save face and not admit it wasn't performing well. I wonder what will happen to the international productions and the tour.

This says they're planning on resuming the tour:

I'm really shocked that it's closing.

I said “wow” aloud when I read the headline, but it’s not news that “Frozen” was currently Disney’s problem child on Broadway. I do think Disney chose now as the time to close it, to blame it entirely on the pandemic but the writing was on the wall that it wasn’t destined to have a mega hit run like other titles. There’s another article out today in which Disney reaffirms its intention to revive Beauty and the Beast, in 2022.

That's a shame if it wasn't doing well... I don't see it as a reflection on the property considering Frozen II did so well at the box office, just the show itself, since even The Little Mermaid and Tarzan flopped on Broadway. What little I saw of the actors and costumes, it looked a little kitschy. TLM had been gaudy as all get-up, too.

This show never appealed to me much and I barely had an interest in watching it so I can't say I'm very disappointed. Would much rather see Beauty and the Beast back or Aida.

Not my favourite (by a mile) but I'm still saddened to see it go away. I feel especially for the new cast, that had to re-tech the show only for it to be over weeks later.

In that same article Schumacher confirmed that the BatB revival will not be coming to Broadway. I think The Princess Bride will end up replacing Frozen since it's currently the only Disney musical in the works that's Broadway-bound.

“Not performing well?” That’s impossible! Frozen is Disney’s biggest juggernaut in years.

Still, it’s very devastating to hear this news.

I have a feeling they would've let it continue to a round 1,000 performances before ending it if the Coronavirus hadn't presented a good opportunity to bow the show out gracefully with as little negative impact to the brand as possible.

^ I’m actually not sure if he was fired yesterday. It reads to me like she saw another post in the past about the director’s behavior and had him fired then, whenever that was. At the end of Howell’s original post, doesn’t he mention the director had moved on to new work?

Anyway, the situation boils my blood, especially coming from a theatrical background myself. I hope the director doesn’t get work ever again.

Cooper Howell is super cute. Anyway, I feel bad for what he had to go through, and what really gets me is that he had to quit to escape his hell. Neither Disney nor his friends had his back till I suppose that director got fired, it's hard to tell, Leisl Tommy is a Disney person who got him fired? Anyway, yeah, that makes Disney not seem very magical.
