Hi all,
This may be a really silly thing to ask, but thought it would be worth a shot......
There was a book I read, in my school library, from when I was about 12 years old (I'm 24 now). It had a massive impact on me, and I loved every minute of reading it ... BUT ... I have long since forgotten what the title is ! I have tried amazon, googling parts of the story, but the trouble is, I have forgotten bits etc in the time that has passed. I was wondering if I could put it out here and see if anyone has read it / heard of it !
From what I can remember ....
A family moves into an old house. It is creepy and foreboding, with a lot of history connected to it. A girl finds a quilt in one of the bedrooms. She sleeps under it, and has visions/dreams of a girl who previously slept under the quilt, many years ago. She eventually finds that inside the quilt is a diary of the young girl; she ripped out all the pages and hid it inside the quilt so no one could find it, making the quilt have this crinkly sound when anyone slept under it. And there was a murder somewhere along the line as well I think?
Now, I thought the title was 'The Patchwork Quilt' but haven't had much joy with that title .....
Anyone have any memories of this book ? Or is it just me .....

Re: A Book From a Long Time Ago....
You're welcome, I'm glad I managed to find it! I've actually never heard of the book, I just did an online search for patchwork quilt diary murder, and the first result looked like it may have been right.
Looks interesting, I may check it out myself sometime!
I think I'm just passing on good karma from several years back, when I was at a loss for finding a favorite book from my grade school library; someone online managed to help me figure out I was looking for No Flying in the House. It was awesome reading it again as an adult and brought back some memories about my own life I had long forgotten (for example, I had named one of my favorite childhood dolls after the main character), and it probably explains my early fascination with fairies.

Wow, that is so lovely of you. It is ever so appreciated....didn't think of googling different words relating to the story, been trying to google plot outlines...maybe where I went wrong !
This is a wonderful childhood read, which further strengthened my love affair with fairies (after I had exhausted the 'Flower Fairies' book) - The Fairy Rebel: http://www.amazon.com/Fairy-Rebel-Lynne ... 0440419255. If you still have a thing about fairies, I can really recommend this one
