Isn't the Lion King supposed to be Out-of-Print by now?

Sorry if this was already discussed, I thought the Platinum Editions were supposed to be released around October and then be discontinued (6 minutes to think of this word... ) by the end of January. Why is The Lion King still here?

The only explanation I could think of was that, since Disney sold so badly with this title, I just thought they might have decided to give it longer to see if they can sell it so more...

Lion King will be out of print(OOP) in Jan 2005 because Disney wants the media to buy Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and Lion King 1 1/2 to have the whole triology along with Lion King.

IMO just put them OOP as soon as possible.

I guess Disney wants to see how much money they can make off the Platnium Edition of TLK. That and I guess they want people to have all three movies or something. I was a little mad that Sleeping Beauty went back into the vault so soon but at least I got it. Sleeping Beauty is my ALL-TIME favorite classic Disney movie. As a kid every time my dad would take me to a video rental place to get a movie they only movie I'd watch would be Sleeping Beauty.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

No. The lion king will be on sale for 2 years. This was announced with the platinum increased frequency announcement.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Yeah -- because of the revised Platinum schedule, the 14 titles are now on the 7-year rotation cycle. Two titles will be released per year starting in 2005, stay on the market for 2 years and then be vaulted for five years. The 2-per-year hasn't started yet, but leaving them on the market was effective immidately.
