I think it would be The Country Bears, but that's just because I don't like the movie. Yours?

Disney DVD I hate the most

Post by Disney Guru »

I'll have to say my most un favorite was Tuck Everlasting. I rented it at the Local Rental Store before I bought it and boy was I glad I would have wasted $20.00 for it. THe plot is stuped the acting is dull it is a pure piece of garbage.

Country Bears. Those talking bears scared the heck out of me.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

Hmm . . . I'm tempted to say Treasure Island, simply because I was so dissapointed with the barebones release, but at least it had a good transfer.

I'd say Blackbeard's Ghost - foolscreen, poor-quality transfer, and no extras.

The Rescuers... I was really looking forward for this title to be released in Disney DVD but it turned out to be a pretty dull edition, I still watch it but it could have been so much better...

I agree with you Secret Disney Man "The Country Bears" really suck at the Box Office and when it came out on VHS and DVD.
Who bought it and who saw it?
I didn't I knew it suck when I saw the previews. LOL

Mulan -- I can't stress enough times how much I absolutely abhor this movie.

And that came from renting the VHS tape at Blockbuster and watching it on ye olde VCR. (I would've rented the DVD but my folks didn't have one back then.)

Tuck the book is awesome. Tuck the movie (Disney's version, that is) wasn't a very good portrayal. Sadly, I bought it before watching it.

I loved Tuck Everlasting! The movie is much better than the book.

But you really can't even compare the two-the main character is completely different.

I personally loved Tuck Everlasting, though it's a rather slim DVD. I think the worst Disney DVD is pretty much any of their live action catalogue titles: poor pan and scan transfers and no extras. In terms of animation, that goes to the majority of the Gold Classic DVD's, particularly the anthologies.

The worst 2-Disc to me is a toss up amongst Alice in Wonderland, The Lion King, and Finding Nemo. Alice is just a random collection of archival material without hardly anything new (and we don't even get all of the archival materials), The Lion King is one long promotional DVD for anything you can think of (Disney Channel, Broadway, Animal Kingdom...), and Finding Nemo tries too hard to please two different consumers and we end up with basically a packed 1-Disc for film fans and a packed 1-Disc for kids. All three DVD's are still pretty solid to me, though.

I agree the preivews for that really freaked me out! :o

I think the worst Disney dvd (out of the ones I have) is Belle's Magical World. I just think it is really boring.

I change my mind.

The Mighty Ducks and The Rocketeer are 2 of my favorite Disney movies, but they both had the most barebones releases. I didn't bother with TMD cause of the foolscreen :D , but I got TR cause of the 2.35:1 transfer.

Well, I only really buy the DVDs I'm most interested in, and chances are I've seen the movie before I get the DVD, so I never really buy "bad" movies (at least not by my standards :D).

So judging on the quality of the DVD and supplements, anything that is barebones, when a plethora of supplements is available, I would consider "bad".

I would also throw in Saludos Amigos and Make Mine Music because they are edited. There is absolutely no need in this day and age to do that.

I thought The Emperor's New Groove was stupid, too! And yet...I know so many who like it.

I thought Dumbo was cute! And...The Rescuers was great!
