Darkwing Duck returns... in comic book form courtesy of Boom

Read all about it: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page ... e&id=25219

I think it's fair to say that 1990s nostalgia is here bigtime.

I'm not much of a comic book reader, but I let out a massive "Yes!" when I saw this bit of news, as I frequently enjoyed the Darkwing Duck comics that appeared in the Disney Adventures magazine. Plus, I'm a big fan of the series. So, I'm very much looking forward to this.

Awesome news!!! :pink: I was always a fan of the Darkwing comics from the mini-series to Disney Adventures . . . would be nice to see them all in some kind of compilation someday. Anyway, I've always wanted to see what happens to the characters at a later point as this series is going to cover. Hopefully it'll prove popular enough to warrant more than four issues.

Hopefully it'll be popular enough to warrant the release of the last 35 episodes on DVD.

I would love that myself, but I'm willing to bet it's gonna take a lot more than a moderately successful comic book to get Disney off their asses over the remaining DVD sets we need. :(

Let's get dangerous indeed. If these comics are anything on the level of the Gargoyles books, I definitely want in.

oh, man, I hope I can find these! I haven't been able to keep up with the other Disney comics. They always end up releasing too many titles for me, and I'm in a bad way for storage space right now too, but I want these!!!

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, but since it's listed on the official Disney Comics Facebook feed, I thought I'd mention that Darkwing's got an official Twitter page!

His first tweet:

Gosalyn's showing me how to use this. I love new gadgets but I have serious doubts 140 characters can contain the brilliance of DARKWING DUC

Still waiting for the Darkwing comics, though maybe they are out individually already, as I'm only getting the collections, but is anyone else getting these new Disney comics from Boom? I thought I'd mention there is also a company called Papercutz that is doing Tinker Bell graphic novels. They just came out with number 2. They are short sized graphic novels but beautifully illustrated, based on the Fairies franchise following the books. I still need to read the books myself, only owning the first hadcover so far (Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg, if that's the right title) and the big, hardcover guidebook with the white dust jacket, but I look forward to getting the other two hardcover novels at least. However, I am collecting and reading the graphic novels, and it was weird to see Tink with a different group of best friends than in the films (sucks that they changed them from the books), and the stories are obviously geared more for kids than the Book stuff, but they're still cute and I enjoy the art.

Anyway, in addition to those Tink books, I'm getting the Boom stuff, but even just getting them in the collected form it has been hard to catch up with all they have released. I've gotten the Wall-E book, the Nemo one, the first of the Muppet books, the 2 Toy Story books, the Monsters Inc. book, the first of the Mickey Wizards and SuperHero books and Double Duck, and I also picked up that Prince of Persia anthology from Disney Press. I'm still very behind on the Boom stuff though (there are more Muppet books, more on the main Disney gang, Cars books, Incredibles...), and why is there never any love for A Bug's Life?. I hadn't bought any comics in a long time, but this stuff is just too good to miss out on, and it's nice to be reading comics again, but I've definitely switched to this convenient collected form. Can't wait for Darkwing Duck! And, I'd like to eventually get those SLG collections too, Haunted Mansion and so on... I can't believe they haven't done any "Pirates of the Caribbean" comics though. Really, I am in shock about that. It seems like the most obvious one that they would do... Sky High would be awesome too.

In The Netherlands, a magazine called 'Disney XD' is being published (based off the tv channel) and there are 'Pirates of the Carribbean'-comics in it. I've also seen similar comics in the German 'Micky Maus' magazine.

Well, I finally located one of the Incredibles books. Unfortunately, a lot of the collections have been hard to find...

I'm not too worried about it...since all 4 volumes will be compiled in this paperback book from what I understand in December

Also Looks like we found the plot of the next wave of Darkwing Duck Comics after the 4 Duck Knights..

Apparently Boom sold out of issue #2 at SDCC, further adding to their surprise about just how well this new series is doing. I'm glad I made it down to the stand on Saturday for the signing...
