He's not an idiot; he went through rehabilitation and has been taking prescription drugs. He was an idiot for starting, but at this point it went beyond his control. Just like it would any normal person.

Sorry, itt's just sad when the only thing you can say to a person that's died is an insult.

Sad news. Not all together surprising though and I hope it at least gives Nicole Eggert a wake-up call (because I caught a bit of her on the George Lopez show, and she seemed totally doped up, but maybe she's just like that). My fave film of his will always be Silver Bullet.

Spoken like a true ignorant child.

Addiction comes in many forms. And if you think addicts can just put it down and be perfectly happy and healthy the next day, you are living in a fantasy land. Addicts need help and support, not ignorant judgments like that.

Besides, from what I read earlier, he was not feeling well and his mother gave him someone to help him. Last night, my mom gave me one of her pain killers to help me with a toothache. I never took that drug before, but I've taken prescription pain killers before, always for something major such as surgery or major migraine/toothache. I had no other drugs in my system. She cut the pill in half for me because she knew it was strong. When it finally did kick in, the pain was gone, but so was the natural world to me as well. I laid down, but it was not a restful sleep. I ended up waking up with a bad reaction to the medication....my throat was swollen and closing. I'm fine. Its ironic really. When I heard Corey died for something similar. I wasn't in an emergency situation, it was scary, but once it was out of my system, I am back to normal and got the toothache treated. But to just automatically assume Cory threw his life away. He was with his parents, it hardly sounds like a night of partying.

RIP Corey

I am hardly a child, I am 43 years old. However, I am the child of a drug addict and understand completely the mind of a drug addict. The addict is the true ignorant child. Totally self aborbed, which is how they got in the predicament they did. Every one of them made a choice. In my case, my mother made the same choice over and over. A few years stoned followed by a few years drying out. And four or five times a concious decision was made to repeat the cycle In the end my father killed himself rather than continuing. In effect she killed him.

I also noticed that you chose to attack me first rather than the argument. I would suggest this is because your argument, one that has been proposed many times, is totally illogical. That is there are no bad people just sick people. Well, it is just not the case.

Usually in my beliefs....people really are good.....just sometimes they make bad decisions such as drugs or something wrong.....and the more they do it the more lost they are...in fact I think the people who do drugs really just got dealt a bad hand in life.....does it justify and make it all right that they did drugs. No....but it does help clarify it...some people feel trapped and resolve to things that are bad....which in that case I just pray for there are no bad people....just very bad decisions that even the best of us could.....no terrorist like Bin Ladin and all thats a whole differ peace of Pie.....

Also I feel that people turn to drugs because in essense...they have no real positive support of people to help the person and if you don't have a positive support group or someone like that helping you making the right decisions....then that doesn't help matters

We met Corey a little over a year ago and he was pretty cool to us. He played with our daughter, who was only 9 months old at the time. She really liked him and honked his nose, which made everyone laugh. We have pictures of them together somewhere, I'll have to search for them. Anyway, he was a really nice and gracious guy, its sad what happened.

I actually feel very much the same way. I don't just blame the person doing the drugs however (including alcohol - you'd better believe it - and smoking), I blame people who glorify and make money off of glorifying them as well. And the people who run the world / government. Various cycles of abuse that are responsible for a great many people feeling they need things like drugs to relieve their suffering.

If I may ask though - when did all that happen? How old were you?

From the time of my earliest memory. I had to learn to make dinner for myself from about seven years old if my dad worked late. I think her current sober streak is at about two years.

And you are right about governments. The CIA is the biggest drug runner in history. Nancy Reagan has gotta be histories biggest joke. Her just say no campaign while her husband traded arms for drugs to support corrupt military dictatorships
