Disney Dining Plan

I heard that the Basic Dining Plan has changed and they no longer include your appetizer or gratuities. We always used it before because we liked the fact that we didn't have to worry about prices or tips or anything. But now, I don't know if it's a good idea or not. Also, our 2 year old daughter doesn't really eat that much and since Disney servings are pretty big, she could share from our plates. I don't know how much extra Disney would charge for her dining plan. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
