12 Weeks of Disney Steelbooks!

Post by Coolmanio »

As some of you may already know, FutureShop is selling various Disney steelbooks (Blu-ray only) for the next 12 weeks. All of these (with the exception of Snow White) will be FutureShop exclusive, so if you live in the US you will not be able to buy them as FS does not ship to the states. ( Up and Monsters. Inc will also get a steelbook in due time.)

Release Schedule:
Snow White 6-Oct,
Sleeping Beauty 13-Oct,
Pinocchio 20-Oct,
Nightmare Before Xmas 27-Oct,
Ratatouille 3-Nov,
UP 3-Nov,
Monsters Inc 10-Nov ,
Wall E 17-Nov,
Bug's Life 24-Nov,
Cars 1-Dec,
Pirates 1 8-Dec,
Pirates 2 15-Dec,
Pirates 3 22-Dec

Here is a pic from a manager of FS Ian:

Sleeping Beauty = :o :o :o

DEAR DISNEY EXECUTIVES,
Do you see the Sleeping Beauty Steel Book above??????????? This is EXACTLY the design and presentation I want to see given to each and every Full Length Disney Animated feature. I LOVE the how it looks like a storybook!! Please get on the ball and release a special collection like this ASAP. Releasing them in order of release would be appreciated as well. PLEASE  and thank you

WHAT KIND OF CRAP IS THIS!!!!!!!!

Why oh why would futureshop get this and not bestbuy, aren't they the same freaking company!?!?!

UGH! :x :x :x

The lack of collectible things like these in the US completely disgusts me Disney!

I love the Snow White steelbook, and I would love to have all of these as well! I hope something happens and they end up being available in the US as well.

I REALLY want the WALL-E Steelbook! If anyone lives in Canada and would be willing to ship me JUST the steelbook case with inserts, no discs, then that would be amazing! I also really like The Nightmare Before Christmas one as well as the Ratatouille one. I wonder how the UP and Monsters, Inc. steelbooks will look like. DARN IT! Why doesn't Best Buy carry these in the States?!

eh they look ugly to me.

Consistancy is key. If they all had a simplisic look like the Snow White I wouldh have like it more, or the whole storybook motage like the Sleeping Beauty one. Say what you want about the stupid floating head Platinum Editions, but those were constistant.

Oh wow, for once in my life, I am so glad I live in Canada! :D
So to get these, will you have to buy the blu ray of the movie, and then they give you the case. Or can you just get the cases? Also will they be available in store or just online?

If anyone knows... :?

They will be available online (FutureShop will launch it this Friday), but with the exception of the Snow White steelbook, the case comes with the Blu-ray, and each will be around $32-$36 dollars CDN.

They also had a steelbook case for Jungle Book which I have, however I'm not using it - just keeping the DVD in the regular case that came with it.

Well that was the international collectors edition cover for sleeping beauty... they're just printing it on metal.

While the Sleeping Beauty one looks great, I'm holding out for the big book set that DMC is releasing next month. They had it on display at the D23 Expo. I wish I had a picture, but it was like the Sword in the Stone gift set they did, where it looks like the book from the film and holds the DVD and a commemorative book.

I have the Snow White SteelBook from Best Buy and it is nice, but I think I'll keep the discs in its original case.

From the sounds of it, the steelbooks are gonna be seperate, and you buy it for a certain price, like a deposit, then get a discount of whatever you paid as a deposit to get the actual title, so perhaps us who already have most, if not all of these titles can pick them up and move our current copies into new cases, which is what I'm planning on.

That Ratatouille steel book is not as nice as the one they had for the DVD when it came out, but damn some of the others are gorgeous. I'll be getting the Sleeping Beauty one for sure and may pick up the Snow White and Pinocchio ones as well, along with some of the others that haven't been revealed yet.

No. With the exception of Snow White, the steelbooks will NOT be sold separately. The Blu-ray discs will come with them.

Oh wow, I really like the A Bug's Life and Nightmare Before Christmas ones.

Of course, I already own them on Blu-ray so I'm gonna have to pass on the Steelbook cover.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

Futureshop exclusive steelbook for Up!

EDIT: Futureshop will be launching the steelbook part of their site on Tuesday, not Friday. They need a few more images.
