Ice Age (Blue Sky Studios)

Post by DDMAN26 »

Surprisingly I never got around to seeing this film and I really liked it. It certainly wasn't on the level of the Pixar films and the story was familar. But I felt the characters were likable, the movie was funny, I laughed a lot. Good movie.

Ice Age is pretty good but Titan A.E. is better. It's made by the same people that made Ice Age. Check it out.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

I really enjoyed the bits with Scrat (the squirel) but I didn't care much for the rest of the movie. The Scrat scenes are just soooooo funny and so beautifully animated. I hope that some day they will base a whole movie on that character.

I thought it was a good effort too. A little on the short side, but a good film nonetheless.

Well Mushu, that is not quite right
Ice age is made by Carlos Saldanha & Chris Wedge
and
Titan A.E. is made by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman

It is the same studio that distributed the two films though:

By the way, Carlos Saldanha is Brazilian!
It is a good and funny film, but there is nothing very special in it.

You know, I rented Ice Age on DVD (I own Titan A.E.) and I noticed that they were made by different people. My bad! I was half asleep when I typed that reply anyway.

One of my favorite animated movies is Ice Age, but I do not often see it mentioned.

Even though I don't "love" it, I really enjoy it and own it! Its got great voice actors, amusing gags plus a touching story-line. It may not be as good as Pixar's best it's still better than anything Dreamworks has done(except Chicken Run).

Well it's certainly better than the other non Disney CGI efforts such as Shark Tale, Valiant and Shrek/2. But I find Ice Age to be rather unimpressive. It just seems to me that it's a bit docile, and i think even the most ardent IA fan would have to admit that the story is nothing new! It's OK if there's nothing else to watch IMO.

Oh man, you gotta see it.
It's about an annoying sloth is it pairing up with a mammoth.
and about a squirrel who's always trying to get to his acorn. :p
Has it's funny moments...I didn't like it as much.
You should rent it..for free though. I'm just glad I have the 2-Disc rather than 1-Disc. ;)

It's about the ICE AGE!!
and the baby's adorable. :)

Think of it as a combination of Shrek and Monster's Inc.

An annoying sloth hangs out with a mammoth who wants to be alone(sound fimilar!) then they find a baby that they try to return to his people(also sounds fimilar) but they better be careful because a pack of sabor-tooth tigers are going to try to steal the baby and eat it. If you liked or love both Shrek and Monster's Inc. you'll like this movie! :)
