Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience Discussion
So, I didn't see a discussion for this, and it is a Disney film, so I decided to start this discussion. If you went and saw it, what did you think? I thought it was a good film. It definitely showed how energetic their performances are. It's a shame it didn't do so well at the box office, but I guess that's what you get when you charge $15 a ticket. The DVD/Blu-ray release is supposedly coming June 30th. I'm kinda surprised it's not coming on the same day as their new album, which arrives June 16th, but that's besides the point. What are your opinions?

I had a really fun time at the movie- I had never been so loud at a movie before! I saw it almost two weeks (I think) after it came out, and I saw it at 2:30pm on a Thursday, so it was just my friend, myself, and 2 other ladies. I'm a big fan of Jonas Brothers, so of course I enjoyed the film. It was fun to scream in the theater!
I'm assuming that the DVD (and Blu-ray) will come with 3D glasses like the Miley concert DVD did.

I loved it!!
I went in with a bias though, because I went to the tour (not the one they filmed, but it was the same show).
I saw this as cover art:

Source: http://www.thehdroom.com/news/The_Jonas ... Bound/4508[/quote]The Jonas Brothers couldn't live up to Miley Cyrus type numbers when their first movie came and went from theaters in a flash. The youngest trio to ever grace the cover of Rolling Stone magazine will get a second chance with the release of The Jonas Brothers: The Concert Experience on Blu-ray Disc and DVD.
The concert film will be offered on Blu-ray in 2-D and 3-D versions. Each version will include two new songs seamlessly integrated into the theatrical version creating a new extended version.
Disney is "maxing" out The Jonas Brothers on Blu-ray with their three-disc combo treatment: Blu-ray + DVD + digital copy. With that package comes a pretty steep SRP of $44.99. Jonas Brothers fans likely won't blink at the price compared to what shelling out for an actual concert ticket would cost.
We don't have a release date or tech specs just yet but those should be available in the near future. If I had to guess then May seems like as good a month as any.

I might not even buy it now.Luke wrote:Yeah, it's no mistake. Even the title on the cover is different (the "3D" not appearing on the DVD versions). Next Friday is the official announcement date.The_Iceflash wrote:Luke, Are you sure? It makes no sense. This a really stupid move by them if this really is true.

Wow, Disney really is all for Blu-ray. First 7 exclusive SW weeks, now the "3D Concert Experience" is exclusive to Blu. What's next? Theatrical releases released on Blu-ray 7 weeks before DVD? Disney confuses me. Well, it's on the front page.

I'm hoping for the Single-Disc Blu-ray. I'm NOT paying that much for 3-Discs. And the Amazon picture puts it as "$70 Value."Proving to be less of a big screen event than hoped, The Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience has left theaters and will come to DVD and Blu-ray on June 30th in a number of different versions. The "3D" of the title will be exclusive to the 3-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo ($44.99 SRP), which serves up an extended cut of the film in 2D and 3D,
2 bonus songs, and behind-the-scenes featurette "Up Close with the Jonas Brothers" (Discs 2 and 3 being the extended edition DVD and digital copy, respectively). On standard DVD, customers can choose between a barebones theatrical cut disc ($29.99 SRP) or the Extended Edition ($39.99 SRP) that supplies the same bonus features as the Blu-ray (minus the 3D version and glasses) plus digital copy. There may also prove to be a single-disc Blu-ray edition, but that's not yet confirmed. All versions will present the film in 1.85:1 widescreen.
