What were your first game(s) for each of your systems?

Post by DarthPrime »

Saw this on another forum and thought it might be interesting. What were the first game(s) that you got when you bought your gaming systems?

My List:

Atari 2600: Pac-man
Atari 7800: Pole Position II
NES: Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt
Gameboy: Tetris and Super Mario Land
SNES: Super Mario World
Dreamcast: Hydro Thunder and NFL Blitz
Playstation: Final Fantasy IX
XBox: Dead or Alive 3
Gamecube: Super Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime
N64: Super Mario 64 and Paper Mario (still the only 2 games I have on this system)
Wii: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (if you don't count Wii Sports)
DS Lite: New Super Mario Bros.

Typing this up I noticed I seem to buy a lot of Nintendo systems whenever a Mario game is released. The only systems from above that I still have are the Wii, DS Lite, and N64 (I used to sell old systems, or trade them in.). I regret getting rid of my Dreamcast though. Excellent system that died before it should have.

I don't remember all of them, but...

GameBoy Color: Pokémon Blue Version and Toy Story 2 (I think I also got Super Mario Bros. Deluxe at the same time as a gift)
N64: I got 3 games at once... I know one of them was Super Mario 64 and one of them was Namco Museum... the third, I think, was Mario Party 3 (I got it as a gift, so I picked out 3 games with it)
GameCube: I honestly don't remember
GBA/GBA SP: I don't remember those either
DS: I want to say Super Mario 64 DS...
Wii: Twilight Princess (that becomes a requirement in order to run emulators and hombrew like I do  ) and another one... I forget the other
Xbox 360: Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones

I just got the Xbox yesterday! The "holiday bundle" came with those two games... I haven't actually PURCHASED any yet. But it will probably be one of the Halo games.

This is fun, it brings back a lot of memories:

NES: Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt
Game Gear: Prince of Persia and Sonic the Hedgehog
Sega Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog and Road Rash
Super Nintendo: Firefox and Mario Kart
PlayStation : Brunswick Championship Bowling, Road Rash, Spyra the Dragon
PlayStation2: Shox, ATV Final Fury, GranTurisimo4
PS3: Gran Turisimo 5: Prologue
Wii: Tiger Wood PGA Gold '07, Mario Kart

And I still have all those systems, and they are hooked up to one television or another, the Wii and PS3 are in the Home Theater and the PS2 and Sega Genesis are upstairs in the Living Room, the NES is in the Playroom for the grandkids, the Game Gear is always in the car with me (traffic tieups become easier to handle).

:)
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

Playstation: Tekken 2 / Tomb Raider 2
Playstation 2: Tekken Tag Tournament (one of the launch titles)
Xbox: Dead or Alive 3
Xbox 360: Dead or Alive 4 and Ridge Racer 6 (I got them both at the same time)

We also had a megadrive before the playstation but it was a joint present which I shared with my sisters, so I didn't include it. Not only that but I would have been too young to remember the first game ever, I think it might have been Sonic 2 but I'm not entirely sure.
