The OFFICIAL Black Friday '08 Thread!!
Sorry, I know there's a day less than a month to go, but I'm just so excited to get this discussion going! What CDs/DVDs/(anything) do you think will be on sale on Black Friday? Anybody know of any of the stores' sales yet?

I'm also trying to find a job to make some money, but I want to hold off until after Black Friday, although I am in desperate need of money. Being only 16 it's hard to find a good job, and I know I'm being picky but I want to be happy working. I've been meaning to go to Target and fill out a job application because Target's really close to my house and, well...Target's cool! I guess I could start work there and request Black Friday off so I could go shopping!

Sears ad is the only one that's out so far. The only real deal in it is a Blu-ray player. The TV prices are pretty disappointing, but its only 1 store.
Not sure if we can post prices or anything on here. I know last year some companies got upset with the leaked out ads.
I'll probably skip going out on Black Friday this year, and just buy stuff online.
Anyway Target is probably getting ready to hire seasonal help DisneyFreak5282. I don't know how it is in your area, but if you get a job there you will probably be required to work Black Friday. Pretty much all retail stores require everyone to work that day.

Sears starts off Black Friday deals
Retailer offers low-priced Blu-ray players, DVDs
by Susanne Ault
This year's Black Friday promises big Blu-ray Disc deal, including sub-$200 latest-model Sony and Samsung players at Sears, according to a scan of a future newspaper insert circulating the Web.
Sears' sale, kicking off Friday, Nov. 28, and running through Sunday, Nov. 30, will feature Sony's BD Live-ready BDP-S350 for $179.99 and Samsung's BD Live-ready BD-P1500 for $199.99, according to the ad.
Sears was not available for comment at deadline.
The price tags represent savings of $120 on the Sony player and $100 on the Samsung player.
The players have been on a relatively quick discount slide, as they launched earlier this year at $399, before the manufacturers shaved the pricing to $299 at the end of September. Sony's BDP-S350 and Samsung's BD-P1500 will have Web capabilities once a firmware upgrade is made available later this year.
In other Blu-ray door buster offers, Sears is serving up Oct. 7 release Sleeping Beauty in the format for $18.99. Currently, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment's title, the studio's first with BD Live, retails for around $25. For example, the Blu-ray Sleeping Beauty retails for $23.95 on Amazon.com and $26.99 at BestBuy.com.
Traditional Black Friday goodies, such as bargain DVD titles, also are expected at Sears. Ads show titles listed at $3.99, $5.99 and $9.99.
Featured $9.99 titles include such major 2008 new releases as Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's You Can't Mess With the Zohan and Universal Studios Home Entertainment's The Incredible Hulk. Titles at the $5.99 mark include some of last year's high-profile releases, such as 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment's The Simpsons Movie and Universal's I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Discs at $3.99 include Lionsgate's 3:10 to Yuma, Warner Home Video's March of the Penguins, and Fox's The Fantastic Four.

The Target here only hires at 18. Legally you can apply earlier, but they don't have to hire you. I applied right after I turned 17, and of course... I never heard back from them.I'm also trying to find a job to make some money, but I want to hold off until after Black Friday, although I am in desperate need of money. Being only 16 it's hard to find a good job, and I know I'm being picky but I want to be happy working. Is it just me or are the ads slow this year? Why isn't TARGET or BEST BUY up? When did they show up last year?
But yeah, I'm getting the Sony 350 Blu ray and a samsung HDTV hopefully I can find the one I want on BF. I'm also hoping AMAZON drops the 350 bluray below 200 before BF, because I much rather deal with amazon then BF stores, it is $219 now and if u Bill it later you get $10 off...

I changed the ending punctuation in the title from "?" to "!!" because it did turn out to be the official thread.
Anyways, I really want these DVDs on Black Friday:
DVDs:
Pirates 3: At World's End: 2 Disc SE
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning
Get Smart: 2 Disc SE
Alvin & The Chipmunks: 2 Disc SE
You Don't Mess With The Zohan: 2 Disc Unrated Edition
Baby Mama
Shrek The Halls
Journey To The Center of the Earth (2008)
Rush Hour 3: 2 Disc SE
Sex and the City: Season 3
Weeds: Season 1
Dexter: Seasons 1 & 2
Fresh Prince: Seasons 2 - 4
SNL: Season 2
SNL: Season 3
The New Adventures of Old Christine: Season 2
Pushing Daisies: Season 2
The King Of Queens: Seasons 8 & 9
The Big Bang Theory: Season 1
The Simpsons: Season 11 (Krusty Head)
Family Guy: Volume 6
Supernatural: Season 3
Two and a Half Men: Season 4
Beverly Hills 90210: Season 1 (and maybe 2)
What do you think? Do you think any of these will be on sale? How much do you think they will be reduced by? If there's a $5 decrease or less in price then it's not worth it to me and I'll just pick them up before or after Black Friday, or I'll put them on my Christmas list.
