The Powerpuff Girls Sereis 6 double sided disc set DVD 2009

Post by disneyboy20022 »

A week ago we passed along word that Warner Home Video had been preparing a release of The Powerpuff Girls - 10th Anniversary Collection: The Complete Series on January 20th. In the early info we relayed from Home Media Magazine, we found out that the 6-disc set would contain 78 episodes, plus extras such as a Documentary on Creator Craig McCracken, Audio Commentaries, a Music Video, "and more".

This afternoon Warner made the formal announcement for this release, and revealed that it will also contain the "Twas the Fight Before Christmas" holiday special (which had
<A HREF="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... previously been released on its own DVD, but is now discontinued). This sounds like it will make for a lot of content on 6 discs, but we've also learned that these will be double-sided "DVD-18" discs. However, don't look for 2002's The Powerpuff Girls - The Movie as part of this release; Warner's info shows that it will continue to be sold separately. Video for the included content is in full screen, with English Stereo 2.0 audio and English subtitles. Cost is $59.97 SRP for 1745 minutes.

Warner will also include in The Powerpuff Girls - 10th Anniversary Collection: The Complete Series package a custom panoramic poster designed by show creator Craig McCracken. We had updated our original story with a small look at the package art, but now we've got the full-sized version for you below. Check it out!

coming to DVD January 20th.2009

Updated....

Also this will not include the Theatrical Movie however it will contain Twas the Fight Before Christmas Episode...so Since these are 6-double sided "DVD-18" dvds...the SRP is $59.97 with 1745 minutes of episodes....

Click the link that I have now put to view what bonus features there (or lack there of in my opinion) But at least its a good price.....I think it sounds reasonable enough...

Fantastic news! I had been planning on getting the first season for some time now and was wondering what was taking so long with the second season. Now I can just wait for this set, which shouldn't be too pricey as it's only 10 discs.

Here's hoping a complete series set for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is coming next year, as well, especially since the series officially ends this Thanksgiving.

Disneykid: same here

I already have seasons 1 (and season 2 which was released in Australia earlier this year) so I would swap them in a heartbeat for the complete series.

Thanks for the link, disneyboy! I really like the artwork, and the price is very reasonable. I can't wait to see the full list of supplements since I know Craig McCracken's a big DVD fan. What's listed so far sounds great, though I wish a widescreen version of the movie would be included, too.
