Disney characters who shall remain nameless...

It's funny. There are some major and minor characters in the Disney animated features that do not have names. Ever since I was little, I was stumped on Beast's real name and which was Prince Charming: Cinderella's or Snow White's prince? Is there anyone out there who knows anyone who has an idea if they ever got names? On the DVDs of such movies, they are just known as the Prince. But on the Beauty and the Beast commentary, someone finally brings up the subject. They don't even know! One says Bob, another says Tyrone. Then I suppose the real question is, why don't they have names? :?:

Anyhow, I thought it would be fun to hear suggestions from everyone else of what the nameless Princes (and other characters) should be. :idea:

Snow White:
Snow White finds her true love, but do they know each others names?
How'd they know which Queen was Snow White's stepmother?

Cinderella:
Cinderella married Prince who? and married into the family of King who?

Sleeping Beauty :
Aurora's parents named her after the dawn. We know one parent was King Stefan. What was the mother's name?

Beauty and the Beast :
Beast when not a beast is called...ummm...?

Aladdin:
When the Sultan was not a sultan, what did they call him?

Am I missing anything? Do you have any queries of the names of some Disney characters or now why they shall remain nameless? :?

I believe the Beast is referred to as "Prince Adam" in some Disney ventures, though it's clearly not given as such in the film. I learned that from people here on the forum.

I believe most of the character's are nameless, but some have been given names in fan fanasy world... I don't think these things are always altogether figured out by the writers. In most of the actual fairytales, the princesses don't even have names, or else the names change from version to version, but hear is my insight on each of the listed...

My mom has the 2003 Princess Calander, and in it the page with Snow White and the prince says "Snow White and her Prince" however, I personally as well as many I know, refer to him as Prince Charming... I think even Disney does on occasion, and Snow White even refers to him as "charming" when describing him to the dwarves....

As for the Queen question, the dwarves obviously knew Snow White was the Princess, therefore the Queen they refer to, is her stepmother, there would be no need to speak of another Queen, besides the Prince probably comes for a far away land....

In the Calander, he is labeled as Prince Charming, however, i have heard him called, and refer to him myself, as Prince Valiant....

As for the King, I'm not sure, as soon as I have the DVD, coming out October 2005, I'll let you know....

The Queen has no name, and I have never heard her given a name...

Again the Saltan is not given a name, something I never noticed before, however, in the original original version of Arabian Nights (the song) he is reffered to as Saltan Hamid....

I read in a storybook that Aurora's mother name was Queen Leah.

In some Disney publications from the 1930s, Snow White's stepmother is referred to as Queen Grimhilde.

Now I remember! You're right about Beast. Because in the D Show Trivia computer game, he is identified as Prince Adam. Thank you Luke and Prince Philip!

Kin00, you're right too, but my brother said that's the name of Beast in the live action TV show with the girl from the Terminator movies.

Joe Carioca, I think I've heard that before about Queen Grimhilde. Another interesting thing about the 30's books, I remember seeing some pictures in a book about Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at our school library and there's one that shows an artist's depiction of Snow White's real mother (or maybe i saw that in the DVD?)

That's right, the girl is played by Linda Hamilton and the Beast was played by Ron Perlman.

in an Aladdin Episode , the Ghost of one of the Sultan's Ancestors said his name was Bobo who named after him Bobolonius... though I'm not sure whether to accept that :P


and I've heard Queen Leah too. though I don't remember where... :?

How about the hedgehogs in Alice in Wonderland? I don't think they have names.

well, that´s a possibility, since thanks to the sleeping beauty dvd now I already know that maleficent´s raven is called "Diablo"...

This is a wonderful topic. I never noticed that the Sultan never had a name. And I love the Jerry Springer comment...it would be funny.

Did Alice's older sister have a name?

And I've only seen Lady and the Tramp II once (which was a great movie, btw :roll: ), but I don't recall if they ever mentioned the names of Scamp's sisters.

I don't think they mention her names, but they are called Annete, Collete and Danielle.
They mention it in the audio commentary though.

King Louie side-kick

One Disney character I've always adored is the little white-haired monkey who attempts to steal the scene from King Louie in the "I wanna be like you"-scene. Does he have a name? Does anyone know? Or perhaps I should ask, does anyone (except me) care? Maybe we should just call him Ollie... :)

I think it's either Edith or Lorina. Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in Wonderland for a girl called Alice Liddell (who is Alice in the story) and she had two sisters called Edith and Lorina, so she's most likely called Edith or Lorina.

Last year i purshaced the Evil Queen Snowglobe from the Disney Store. It came with a certificate that said that her name was "Queen Grimhilde".
Also in the Archives at Disney.com it tells her real name.

Most of the objects in the film aren't given a name.

One question.. Is Chip's real name Chip or was it just his "teacup" name.
