The Making of Disneyland's Indiana Jones Adventure

Post by UncleEd »

Who exactly owns the rights to that 30 minute making of the ride Sallah and Marion hosted? Could George Lucas include that on an ultimate Indiana Jones DVD set if he wanted to? He considers it cannon, right?

One would hope that this would be included in any "canon" Indiana Jones set for release. However, since Disney had its hands involved it is highly unlikely that it will ever see the light of day again because Disney would charge too much for it to be released on a Paramount DVD......well.....maybe not now that Eisner's gone. Maybe now, Disney can see the monetary return on being cooperative with other studios (i.e. the way Walt did all kinds of animation for other studio projects, and used a lot of other studio talents when he first got started in live action). Maybe we are in a new Disney era where there is no "How much money can we make" mantra, but rather a "what can we do to please the Disney fans....or make Disney look nicer and better" mantra. Corporate Disney sure better clean up their image, and with the new regime they have quite an opportunity.

Anyway, sorry to be off topic. As for your question, the show was produced by George Zaloom and Les Mayfield for ZM Productions. However it was produced in association with Walt Disney Television.

A release on a Paramount DVD set is highly unlikely

Is that the same Zaloom who made Beakman's World?

I'd think Lucas would have ownership in this film given how anal he is about owning everything of his work.
