Very interesting. I'm not sure if I'll see this when the time comes. Doesn't interest me yet. But who knows, we'll see.

I just heard about this site that has information about a whole bunch of Disney movies including upcoming ones. It's called www.UltimateDisney.com and they even have information about Meet the Robinsons right here:

Yes, there actually was one (in a thread with a similar title) earlier this week.

You can find it here:

Meet the Robinsons in 3-D

Post by MouseHouse55 »

A small bit of news that I don't think has been posted yet. In the latest Investor Newsletter, it says that Meet the Robinsons (which is still slated for 07 despite Pixar's influence on the schedule) will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D. It will be in all compatible theaters, as was Chicken Little. Ok, just wanted to share.

It also has a shot from the film in the PDF* and... well, let's just say, I hope that's a concept art rendering. :o I'm sure it is, but still, if it's not...

I've seen better CGI being rendered in real-time on my Xbox.

Agreed, that art was very poor. I could not find a way to save it to show it off though. Hopefully with a year left they'll work on some improvements.

This site has some tiny clips of test animation from the film: http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=20944

It looks like the villain. Anyway, the release date is December 15. Music by Danny Elfman (that's awesome) and it has a long list of celebrities attached to it:

Spencer Fox
Jordan Fry
Gary Oldman
Harland Williams
Steve Zahn
Denzel Washington
Tom Kenny
Steve Anderson
Angela Bassett

On page 12 of this link you can see the picture. It's obviously not yet rendered lol. What I don't understand is how the article is bragging about groundbreaking technology and blabla... yet they show a not yet rendered image....

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming. I hope it doesn't really change to 2007!

Ugh!

The date of this movie release was switched to March 30, 2007.

Just recently the release date of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was announced for.....you guessed it.....March 30, 2007.

BAD BAD BAD! I hope one of them switches. My boys would rather go for TMNT, and I'd opt for the Disney movie. Bad timing.

I mean, I know my family will see both. But I'm sure a whole lot of families who don't go to the theaters as regularly as I do will have to choose and it will hurt Meet The Robinsons bottom line.

I just don't like two movies with "family appeal" opening on the same day. It will hurt the bottom line for both of them!

This isn't a first time two animated films had the same release date, WB'S Happy Feet and Lion Gate's Food Fight! both had a November 17th 2006 release date, and with Happy Feet being the bigger film of the two, FoodFight! now has... you guessed it, a March 2007 release date.

An early look at 2007 animated film release dates, I know I'm missing a ton of movies...

Foodfight! – March 2007
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – March 30th
Meet the Robinsons - March 30th
Shrek 3 - May 18th
Surf's Up - June 22nd
Ratatouille - June 29th
Bee Movie – November 2nd

One of those movies will definitely change dates. You just can't have both of them opening the same weekend. By themselves they have a chance to open with over $30 million but together they'd only muster a $20 million at most. The studios wouldn't want that to happen.
