One I thought was funny. It has a bit of truth to it, which makes it funnier...

Great twist for that TLM scene! It makes me think of the 'How This Film Should have Ended' series. I hope the creators do spoofs on other Disney song scenes. Thank you for sharing it, Disney Duster.
The latest video I want to share can't be embedded so the link:
Meet the Witch Doctor
The BeachballSU person commenting is myself. I must know what the audio for the video is from!

It's just as funny as Tea Party protesters carrying signs depicting Obama as a monkey, or as funny as former Senator George Allen calling a black man a "macaca"...Super Aurora wrote:Anyone who gets offended by this, literally has no sense of humor.
Not very funny. Not funny at all. Offensive, even. A bit racist. A whole lot racist.

People in comedy standup makes jokes like these all the time, whether they're black, white or what ever.Goliath wrote:It's just as funny as Tea Party protesters carrying signs depicting Obama as a monkey, or as funny as former Senator George Allen calling a black man a "macaca"...Super Aurora wrote:Anyone who gets offended by this, literally has no sense of humor.

I hate when people tell me or anyone for the matter that "that's racist, you can't say this! or ZOMG, offended!"
Seriously. I'm white and I love racist jokes on whites. Are you going tell me that's ok? But I can't do same on any other race? BULLSHIT.
So my statement before still stands.

Here's the thing, humor is subjective.... HIGHLY subjective. What that means is that what may be funny to you or anyone else might not be funny and could even be offensive to others. If Goliath found it offensive who are we to say otherwise?Super Aurora wrote:People in comedy standup makes jokes like these all the time, whether they're black, white or what ever.Goliath wrote: It's just as funny as Tea Party protesters carrying signs depicting Obama as a monkey, or as funny as former Senator George Allen calling a black man a "macaca"...

I understand that people need to develop a good sense of humor about things, otherwise everything will be annoying. But at the same time, we shouldn't call people out when they don't find something funny, almost forcing them to be humorous if they don't feel like it.
So long story short, just because YOU laugh at racist jokes it doesn't mean that EVERYONE will laugh at them, and they are neither right or wrong in doing so. If that's how they genuinely feel, so be it. At the very least, respect their wishes.

Thanks Sky Syndrome. That video about the Witch Doctor, was that put with some other movie? I didn't understand it, but I liked "It's starting to bore me how much you suck", lol.
Goliath, that video, pretty funny, love how it accuyrately makes fun of real message boards.
Super Aurora, I actually found it funny because I thought that there was a rapper that called himself Donkey Kong, but I guess I was wrong. I thought the very idea of a live-action Donkey Kong was just so funny.

that makes sense, fair enough. one thing though:
It seems he ignores intent where hateful racists are the same as those who poke fun at stereotypes. that was the stuff i thought was ridiculous.
The joke was that the person poke fun of the stereotype of black people = monkeys (hence 50 cent morgan freeman are portrayed as the monkey characters) But if you read on at the bottom, it says "Uwe Boll Production"....Disney Duster wrote: Super Aurora, I actually found it funny because I thought that there was a rapper that called himself Donkey Kong, but I guess I was wrong. If you know anything about the guy, he notoriously known for making shitty awful video games adaption movies. that's where the true joke was about on the pic.

I've never heard of comedians comparing black people to animals and most certainly not to apes. Actual racists (unlike you; I don't think you are racist) used to compare black people with monkeys, or are still doing so. It's a very old, very ugly slur. It expresses the idea that black people are somehow 'lower' than white men on the evolutionary ladder. That's why you can't compare black people to apes (Donkey Kong Country is about apes) and say it's just a joke. It's offensive.Super Aurora wrote:People in comedy standup makes jokes like these all the time, whether they're black, white or what ever.

I don't care how awesome you think you are for fighting the so-called 'pc police'. I don't care you hate it when people call things racist when they obviously are. You can't simply shove aside all reasonable criticism by referring to political correctness. No matter how cool you think you are. It's not a cool attitude. It's childish. It's saying: "I can insult anybody I like and if you say something about it, you're pathetic."
Funny thing is -and SuperAurora knows this- that I'm not easily offended. Heck, I think that, on this board, I'm a member who tolerates more than most other members. The one thing I don't tolerate is derogatory comments about race, ethnicity or sexual preference. Yes, humor *is* highly subjective, but the fact that comparing black people to monkeys is an old tactic of actual racists, is a *fact*. That comparing black people to apes is always meant to insult black people, is a *fact*. Protesters are not depicting Obama as a monkey because that's the one animal that randomely popped into their heads. It's a long tradition. And that's why I object to SuperAurora's lame attempt at being funny.pap64 wrote:Here's the thing, humor is subjective.... HIGHLY subjective.
