"Simpsons" movie revealed in trailer
Friday March 31 4:57 PM ET
Homer Simpson hit the big screen on Friday in a short teaser trailer announcing "The Simpsons" movie.
The "Simpsons" teaser debuted prior to the opening of 20th Century Fox's latest animated film "Ice Age: The Meltdown." The clip announces Fox's July 27, 2007 release date for "The Simpsons" movie.
The animated 25-second clip opens on a giant superhero S. "Leaping his way onto the silver screen," intones a narrator, "the greatest hero in American history!" Cut to Homer Simpson sitting on his couch in his tighty whities. "I forgot what I was supposed to say," he says. The narrator continues, " 'The Simpsons Movie,' coming to the screen, July 27, 2007." "Uh, uh," says Homer, "we better get started."
The long-running animated television series created by Matt Groening and developed by James L. Brooks is currently being adapted for the big screen at Film Roman Studios in Burbank.
"The Simpsons" has been on television since late 1989. It started as a segment of Fox's "The Tracey Ullman Show" in 1987-88.

I am really happy to see a Simpsons movie coming out. It is my favorite TV show ever.
And I noticed in 2007 we will have
Harry Potter and The Order of The Pheonix
The Simpsons Movie
Spider-Man 3
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Pirates of The Carribbean 3
07 is gonna be an awesome year for the movies
If anyone has seen the teaser is it good?

No need to worry - the aforementioned teaser indeed runs right before The Meltdown, so it's quite official, I'd say.Loomis wrote:It's April 1st over here...

Umm... well, it's exactly as the article describes it - there's really nothing more to it than that! Not exactly worth the admission price, just see such an excruciatingly short teaser...yankees wrote:If anyone has seen the teaser is it good?
Well, there is one addition, actually. After Homer says, "Uh-oh... we'd better get started" a random "Eeeexcellent!" from Mr. Burns is heard. Kinda random, but oh well!
Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

I saw the teaser.
Im surprsied it was the 2nd teaser they play out of all the previews cause i thought they would save the best for last
Anyway there isnt much to say about the teaser...it basically described it all in the article.
It was a very funny teaser though, the way Homer acted was a very classic Simpsons moment.
I really want july of 2007 to come.
I persoannly think that the next time we see something about this movie will be during X- Men 3 ( FOXs next big film) then we will get a 1min teaser around the holidays and probblay some full trailer in march or april of next year.
And Ice Age 2 was really good also

The trick is to wait for Fox next potential DUD film, needing a box office boost with a trailer that is far more popular... See Star Wars trailers as a guide!yankees wrote:I persoannly think that the next time we see something about this movie will be during X- Men 3 ( FOXs next big film) then we will get a 1min teaser around the holidays and probblay some full trailer in march or april of next year.

True, as the RotS trailer was shown with Robots. And the teaser was shown with the Incredibles (right?)Loomis wrote:The trick is to wait for Fox next potential DUD film, needing a box office boost with a trailer that is far more popular... I guess it has been different here, then. The Phantom Menace trailer was screened with John Carpenter's Vampires, if memory serves!

Even the most generous of fans would say that it has been YEARS since the series has been truly at the top of its game.numba1lostboy wrote: 2) I think this movie will be the downfall of the series.
The movie couldn't be any worse than the last 7 years or so...
