Anchor Bay questions

Post by janetracer »

1. I know that there were a number of Anchor Bay Disney titles that were
originally issued as both wide and full screen on one disc, later these were changed to full screen only. My question is who else out there purchased one of the full screen labled copies but discovered a disc with both versions? And what titles where they?

I bought a copy of "The Cat from Outer Space" and was pleasently surprised to find a disc with both versions. Whereas my full screen copy of "Big Red" unforunatly lived up to its full screen only aspect.

2. Was " Castaway Coyboy " only ever avalible in full screen ? :?

I can't answer your first question, but as for #2, I belive "Castaway Cowboy" has only been issued in a Fullscreen-only disc. Amazon says "Widescreen letterbox", but they're wrong and here's DVD Empire's scan to prove it:

And there's only been one released listed everywhere, so I guess that's it.

Oh, and I know you're not exactly new as you've been registered for 2 weeks now, but welcome to the world of posters! :eye: :)

If you want the Anchor Bay versions, look fast -- Disney's getting the rights back to most of the Disney titles and they're planning on releasing a bunch of them next year....
