I really hope that Disney changes its mind by releasing it nationwide in theaters if the El Capitan screenings do well.
I'm thinking that if they were to release it nationwide, it would be next year when the movie turns 25

Albeit yes it would do better if released now nationwide, but that's Disney Marketing of the 21st Century (Say that in an echo like Duck Dodgers type of voice}

I'm still betting it'll see a wide release. Even if as mentioned we have to wait a year.

A 25th anniversary release makes perfect sense. And believe me, it BETTER happen! This generation (along with anyone who has missed out on seeing it in theaters) deserves to see this movie the way it's meant to be seen, on the silver screen, even if it's only released in 3D!

I don't care for a theatrical release -- just release it on a 3D Blu-ray and I'll be done with it!

Highly unlikely they would release it next year after everyone and their dog has a copy of the new BD. Everyone will be sick of THE LITTLE MERMAID by this time next year.

I had forgotten about that Jump 5 song and music video. I'm sure most of the purists would never see this, but I really like it when someone takes a song and totally changes the tempo and beat and makes it work. I think musically, the song works very well as a pop song, just as it works as a slow ballad. Don't care too much for the music video, but this song has all the high-energy a pop song would need.

I particularly like going to the Magic Kingdom because I always hear new renditions of old classics around the park. They don't just play Classic Disney on a continuous loop. I oftentimes hear new renditions of old classics. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but if you don't dare to change, you will never hit upon anything new. Change is good.

Good news- just wait till Oct. 2013 to get the 3D combo. (I assume you're aware of it by now)
... wait, wouldn't everyone already got sick of this film after all these years? ... I mean we got a few VHS releases, 2 DVD releases, and then the internet... Just saying.

... wait, didn't Disney cancel the re-release of The Little Mermaid due to the newer 3D re-releases making less revenue? Definitely read somewhere about that. So if that were true, basically, only 2 of the Big 4 were given 3D theatrical releases.
This is DisneyFTW1, a former Youtube account that was terminated by Disney themselves. My current Youtube Account is FilmFTW2 (FilmFTW1 was terminated). Youtube sucks when it comes to film uploads, and it sucks even more when major corporations are following your channels. But what can I do?

I wonder if this will get a brief showing in the UK anywhere?

Seems silly to convert it to 3D, show it in one cinema and release it on Blu then do nothing else with it....I know the 3D releases have lost money, but there is almost a hysterical love for Mermaid. I would certainly figure it would make more than Beauty.

If you re-release the title in a better, higher-quality format, people will come.

If you are just re-releasing the 3D format in theatres six months to a year after just selling the same 3D format on 3D BD, you won't have as many people excited.

That's what they did with Beauty and the Beast which is why it didn't do well in theaters compared to The Lion King. So you would think Disney would learn but in the words of Magneto " They Never Learn."

Carly Rae's version of Part of Your World will get a music video and we'll also have a "Making Of" to go along with it. In early September, TLM TV show will air on Disney Junior for a few days as promo for the release.

Disney Movie Club has had it for pre-order for a while but no 3D Blu Ray Combo pack has been added. I talked to someone from Disney Movie Club and asked me if I wanted it. I asked for the 3D combo pack and they said they don't have that available yet and didn't know when. The person said that many people have been asking about the 3D combo pack. Odd. Perhaps they're saving it for a featured Title in October..

I usually order from there is there is an exclusive movie I want

Like a dramatic recreation of the collaboration between Howard Ashman and Alan Menken! (slightly NSFW, but we all now it's a tower...)

Are the clips posted on IMDB from the Diamond Edition or the old Platinum Edition? Sorry if this has been asked before but I haven't been around for awhile. Even at the low resolution, I think they look good.

^They're from the Diamond Edition. If you compare them to the PE, you'll see almost completely different colors. The colors in the new clips look much like the 1990 LD (which is great).

Wow, Neverland! I could almost swear that Sebastian was singing the words "ġewwa l-baħar" in that trailer. In my language that roughly translates to "inside the sea". I don't understand Arabic, but I do pick up some sounds. Somtimes I like to switch to an Arabic TV channel and see if I can recognise any words.

No cover as of yet, but will 100 % be getting the sequels. I hope they don't re-use the same cover as last time, as fab as it was. Want something new, like Cinderalla's had.
