I'm thinking about going into animation business myself, if i'm good enough ofcourse. I've always loved drawing. But i'm only fifteen so i first have to find a good animation school that can teach me everything! Can you recommand a good school?

Sorry that this is offtopic everyone
Well, I personally went to the academy of arts in Tilburg but I think Breda and Utrecht also have very good animation programs. You could also start training yourself by reading the animation books by Richard Williams, Eric Goldberg and "The Illusion of Life" by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston. Those will teach you a lot of principles and the biggest tip I can give you. Draw constantly, everywhere and always. Always have a sketchbook with you when you travel and just make quick sketches of what you see around you, not just your own characters, but real people around you! :) If you ever have any questions or need some advice, just send me a private message :) I'm always happy to help if I can ;)
everything you said. I will only add that I'd recommend Utrecht over Breda. Utrecht is much more focused on techniques and drawing skills. I was never in agreement over the way they taught animation in Breda and I had one teacher who agreed with me ( and who actually used a paper I wrote on animation in her class material  ) but their heavy focus on all things 'artistic' makes them really outdated in my opinion. I've rarely seen truly inspirational stuff and the students that really excelled were talented animators before coming to the Academy.

Nope, it's drawn/inked/colored by many different people. But it's a wonderful little book.

You are so lucky Jane! You know I live in Vegas so I'm just hoping that the disney stores are just slow getting some of the new items. I did email the disney store site they tolled me it "might" be in the Vegas area and also gave me a phone number. I call the number when I'm about to go to a Disney Store in the future, since now I'm not allowing myself to go out because I got a major paper due on Tuesday.

I wanted to inform you guys that I was checking out store ads from the mail today. In kmart they have an ad for calenders they're selling it shows the Tangled Calender one of their calender selections they're selling. So if you want to get your Tangled Calender go to Kmart it seems like.

I was wondering, but is it just a retelling of the movie in graphic novel form? Or is it different?

I went to the Disney Store in my area today, and picked up the Tangled graphic novel; I gave in.. and now know all the spoilers.. My Disney Store had about 15.. maybe more, but the majority of them were ripped or bent, or thrown on the ground at various locations around the store, despite workers trying to place them back near the Tangled merchandise.

Anyway, the small Tangled section in this store was croweded with about three small girls and their parents. One girl was looking at the Tangled dolls and the other two reading the graphic novel intently. One even said to their parents, almost giddy, "this story is sad, but funny and good". All had a smile on thier faces. Then another girl entered the store and ran straight to the Tangled area, and upon reaching it, turned around to her mother and yelled "Rapunzel!". The mom, of course, replied "thats Tangled, honey.."(even though the large sign said something like "Disney's Tangled, featuring Rapunzel (in a smaller font))". The mom went to look at the doll.. probably noticing the very long hair..

Sorry if that bored anyone, but it seems the marketing for this movie is working for its "target audience", I even saw another teenaged boy finger through the graphic novel. By the way, I wasn't really stalking these people, I was constantly trying to crawl over them to look for a grapic novel in good condition. The book, by the way, is great (although my 25% off I was going to get off the book for bringing Disney a T-shirt to recycle wasn't good for media, so I bought Flynn's lightcycle in addition.. which was oddly deviod of Flynn Rider..

I went to the Disney Store this pasted Thursday and I went just to try to find the Graphic Novel. I was checking out the BATB and Tangled section and then a group of 3 girls yelled "Rapunzel" or "Tangled" went to the Tangled section. So I do noticed that little kids know who Rapunzel is even with the movie title as "Tangled".

The graphic novel isn't illustrated by Keane. It's basically the story in a very detailed illustrated form. It is great and worth the $9.99

i'm surprised to hear that some Disney Stores dont have it..all of the ones in the MA, NH area seem to :?

This looks like a really amazing movie! (Although, I still despise the title!) I think the story will be great, and with Alan Menken's music and songs it can't fail^^ I really, really hope this will do great at the box office and with the critics. Perhaps people will become interested in Disney animation again, and then Disney can release more 2D movies...

A big, big thank you to everyone that posts pictures, videos and links about this movie!:D (February 2011 seems reeeally far off;)
