Why would they want to do this and make it like every other fairytale? The fact that "The Snow Queen" has a girl save the boy sets it apart and makes it feel fresher. I would honestly boycott the film if they switched the roles. I would be really mad.Polizzi wrote:P.S. I got an idea. Instead of Gerada coming to save Kai, what if Disney makes Kai save Gerda? That would most certainly be a twist of a story, and would get boys to enjoy it, or should I say, "Give them a, 'chill,' of a lifetime." That idea of a story would definitely be different compared to Wizart's.
Disney's "The Snow Queen" in 2013?

^Well, it's not exactly as if "The Snow Queen" is romantic or girly (although it does have talking flowers). I don't see why boys shouldn't be able to watch an adventurous girl just as easily as an adventurous boy. As long as the story is kept exciting (some of the detours will need to be cut out) and not made into some sort of love story, there's no reason boys should avoid it. Marketing helps, too, of course.

I have a theory that its the powers of the coperate branch that prevents them from calling it Snow Queen. All I think is that they are forced to think up a title because of the fact the original title was executive veto. You have to remember sometimes executives hold more power than the directors and producers.Polizzi wrote:If I work for Disney and work on Disney's, "The Snow Queen," and without the title change, I would market on the story while John Lasseter markets on both the animation and characters. Disney did it for, "Beauty and the Beast," so why not, "The Snow Queen?" That way, it will be a hit movie.

I hope this won't be a case of dueling movies because of the fact the movies are adaptions of the Snow Queen.I also think that would make Disney step up their A game for this adaption.Just think if they do the Snow Queen/Frozen, just think of all the other fairy tales they have shelved over the years because of the fact they were hard story wise.Polizzi wrote:http://www.awn.com/news/business/wizart ... -queen-efm

I would assume they are too far into production at this point for that to be a problem. Plus, I'm sure Disney has known about this Russian version far longer than we have.TsWade2 wrote:But it might be cancelled due to this!DisneyAnimation88 wrote:Disney are making a film based on Snow Queen, Frozen, the subject of this thread.
So what you're saying is, that this version of the Snow Queen is not coming to US, and Disney will still make a movie of Frozen formerly known as The Snow Queen?SWillie! wrote:I would assume they are too far into production at this point for that to be a problem. Sorry, the question was rhetorical.Sotiris wrote:Because Polizzi keeps posting stuff about it.

I imagine any US release will be direct to video.TsWade2 wrote:Okay. Sorry about that.Sotiris wrote:It's highly improbable that the Russian version will get a U.S. release anyway.
