Product images of the Cinderella 75th Anniversary merch collection.
I’ve always wanted a replica of Cindy’s slipper from the 1950 film. I’m sure Disney must have released others in the past. Cinderella experts (Duster, I’m looking at you!), what do you think of the one in this photo set?

Re: Cinderella Discussion
It’s beautiful, umbrella! The WDCC released a nice glass slipper in 1996 that I’ve seen for $35-45 on eBay, but I think this 75th Anniversary slipper is even prettier. The WDCC slipper has Dreams Come True 1996 engraved on it which may be of less value to you.
I have basically stopped collecting Disney collectibles these days with rare exceptions. Although I’m a huge fan of the original 3 Princesses, not much of the 75th merch interests me frankly.
I would prefer the Cinderella and Lady Tremaine sculpture be truer to the film scene. Cinderella obviously wasn’t admiring her pink gown when her stepmother locked her in her room, but I understand why they went with that showier depiction.
Lucifer in the sleeve is kind of cute.

Re: Cinderella Discussion
I GOT AN ORDER OF THE DOLL THROUGH!!!!!
Now it is sold out lol. But I made it! I am so happy! The sales tax and shipping or whatever it was made it like around like $180 though lol! Still cheaper than the scalpers! I cannot wait until I get her, supposed to be the 15th, which is the actual anniversary, so, makes sense, yay! Is that how they planned it?!
Thumper, so glad you got the doll, too!
Brelly, omg I LOVE that Lucifer in the sleeve plush! Disney Store online does not have that plush, so where can I get it? I found one on eBay for $105, I'm not paying that! Anyway, I would say that light-up glass slipper sculpture is so worth it because it is film accurate and looks very pretty, so rainbow! But I must limit my collection, so since I have glass slippers, I will pass.
So, the first glass slipper I ever bought was at my mall's Disney Store, in 2012 for the Diamond Edition. It was perfect, except that it had a frosted heart which was not movie accurate. But I wanted it badly, and it was after I came down with diagnosed depression, so, I bought for I believe around $200. Here is a (not taken by me) photo, sorry it is so small:

Later, as I tried to fight depression with buying happiness, lol, I bought on eBay a Master Replicas, non-frosted, movie-accurate glass slipper that even came with the purple pillow! That was for around $1,000. Then in 2015 I bought the live-action version of the slipper online, made for the Disney Store, for around $400. Here's (not taken by me) photos of each:

If you search Cinderella glass slipper I am sure you will find more, because my searching found ones (Disney ones!) I had not seen before (like in different boxes, or just looked different themselves). So, if you want to hunt, go ahead, but that light-up figurine looks like a keeper if that is the kind of stuff you collect. I have a few Cinderella statues, but I myself will pass on these figurines so far as I am trying to limit myself to books and dolls now.
Carolinakid, that Lego Neverland IS amazing!!! And thanks for the added info, like about the WDCC slipper! I love that they mashed up the two separate scenes for the Cinderella in the attic and Tremaine sculpture, as it's just a cool idea to me, and Tremaine would have locked up Cindy if she just knew she was in there with that dress to keep her from going to the ball, too!

She's available again in the USA. I thought that she was going to be sold out in the same day.

Thank you for the info about the slippers! Still deciding if I have to have it or not…
I’m glad everyone that wanted the LE doll got her! I decided to pass, but I think she is lovely. I agree, I’m worried about the Blue Fairy. She is also a must have for me and I think she will sell out quickly.

Yes, Thumper, I heard the doll sold out and was re-stocked and then sold out again throughout the day.
Brelly, glad you were strong enough to pass to save your money, and I hope you get that amazing Blue Fairy! And, thank you!

Re: Cinderella Discussion
I got my doll last night! Here I am with it today:

I am so, so, so happy I have it! It is my third favorite doll now, after 2nd being Aurora 65th and 1st being Saks Cinderella. But even in third place, it's soooo good to me that it is a very high honor! It fights for that #1 spot in my mind! Maybe I love all three 1st place lol.
Carl Folkerts on Instagram said he thought the dress was a take on the wedding dress and not the ballgown, and, it is silver and white, and has long sleeves, and has the overlapping wraparound bodice, true, but it has no veil and the back of the box says it is for Cinderella going to the ball, so, as I thought, it's supposed to be her silver and white ballgown!
I'm gonna re-post this in the 17" inch doll thread, for anyone curious there.

It's her ballgown. The shape of the overskirt, the headband and the necklace are clearly inspired by the ballgown. The box also is dark and reminds me to the night.

Thank you so much for what you said, and yes, what you said means it is her ballgown and the box definitely indicates nighttime, I didn't think of that! I think you will get your doll very soon!

I know of at least one place where they got the 75th Anniversary logo and title writing from, a very beautiful album cover!:

I also think Cinderella's 75th Anniversary doll is based on some concept art by Marc Davis!:

Re: Cinderella Discussion
That album cover is absolutely stunning!
I wish they would rerelease the classic Disneyland Records albums from the ‘50s & ‘60s on CD.
I have a few that you could get “hand made” at the Music Shop on Main St at Disneyland, but that was almost 20 years ago. I have cast recordings (not soundtracks) from Babes in Toyland and Summer Magic.

I'm glad you agree on the Cinderella album cover!
What do you mean, that at the Music Shop in Disneyland they made old albums as CD's that you just couldn't get anywhere else? Could you get them tailor made for each customer according to what they asked for?
Also, what made the original cast recordings different from the soundtracks? Movies only had soundtracks I thought.

Re: Cinderella Discussion
Yes, Duster, in the early 2000s one could visit the Music Shop at Disneyland and they would burn you a CD from a list of classic Disneyland Records albums no longer available for sale.
For many films a soundtrack album was not released. Disney would record an album of the songs with members of the original casts and a studio orchestra and/or with studio singers. Sometimes both versions were released. Think Marni Nixon recording the songs from Mary Poppins in addition to the Julie Andrews soundtrack album.
For several Disney animated films such as Alice in Wonderland, Lady and the Tramp and The Aristocats, studio cast recordings were the only source available until the actual soundtracks were finally released on CD in the ‘90s.
I hope this somewhat clears it up for you...

Re: Cinderella Discussion
The fact you can take Lucifer out of the sleeve is amazing. If I ever am making enough money I may snag him.
I got my Disney Cinderella Pop-Up book today! It is mostly a very wonderful and perfect book. I was disappointed knowing I'd only get 5 pop-ups at first, but the choices for the pop-ups was perfect. But it loses a few points by recycling past pop -ups and illustrations. The Disney Princess pop-up book Brelly has has virtually the same dress transformation pop-up, and the Princess one did jt better! Also a repeat of Mathew Reinhart's own version of Cinderella in the way the coach pop-up was done. Also, many images were just slight redesigns of either the film or other book images, and even images from scenes repurposed for other scenes they were not from (like drawing Cinderella's "Oh I understand" scene as when she sees her pink mice dress...?!). Still, beautiful book I am glad to have. The palace ball pop-up was amazing.
On a related note, I got the book "What is the Story of Cinderella?" from the WhoHQ series, and found it a good read even though it's geared towards kids. I actually hadn't quite heard all the information in the book before.

Re: Cinderella Discussion
Have they made anniversary trailers like this before? Also interesting that they’ve included the Brandy Cinderella which is a Rodgers and Hammerstein piece. It must be because the movie is available on Disney+.
