So, it will probably get a European release and perhaps even a limited American one, before Disney's version. The $7 million dollar-budgeted film is expected to be ready by the fall, with a domestic and international release planned for the end of 2012. The Snow Queen will also be represented at the Cannes Film Market this May.

There already was a film last year called 'Frozen', by the way: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1323045/
Maybe it's part of their marketing strategy. For example, Flynn Rider was shown first before Rapunzel on the trailer of Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)." I bet Wizart feared that if they show the Snow Queen on the trailer, it would scare the boys away, besides the title, or maybe it's a surprise.jazzflower92 wrote:Another question that comes to mind is where the heck is the adaption's Snow Queen. Its like they don't even want to show her.

Did DreamWorks Animation cancelled their version of, "Puss in Boots," after a different country unleashed their version? No. Which means Disney will still proceed on completing their version. Unless Wizart decided to sue Disney, if Disney made it too similar on the story, but not the animation.TsWade2 wrote:Disney better not cancel it again!
P.S. I got an idea. Instead of Gerada coming to save Kai, what if Disney makes Kai save Gerda? That would most certainly be a twist of a story, and would get boys to enjoy it, or should I say, "Give them a, 'chill,' of a lifetime." That idea of a story would definitely be different compared to Wizart's.

Wouldn't Kai saving Gerda would be missing the point of the story? And why would they get sued for making their version of the Snow Queen? The story has no copyright.Polizzi wrote:Did DreamWorks Animation cancelled their version of, "Puss in Boots," after a different country unleashed their version? I'm sure the most vocal of Disney's feminist critics would be delighted about this role reversal!Polizzi wrote:P.S. I got an idea. They wouldn't risk their lives just to do the role reversal.I don't know what changes they made to the story but all I think is that the kept Gerda as the one who saves the day.Plus I have a feeling that Disney won't pass on making the Snow Queen into a femme fatale that seduces Kai.Wonderlicious wrote:I'm sure the most vocal of Disney's feminist critics would be delighted about this role reversal!Polizzi wrote:P.S. Oh,come on I have a feeling the Snow Queen will be more villianous than she was in the original tale.I also think she will be more of a sexy villianous who has a thing for younger men.
And yes I have a mind that is just evil.
Not even Rapunzel by the Grimm Brothers?Dream Huntress wrote:Wouldn't Kai saving Gerda would be missing the point of the story? And why would they get sued for making their version of the Snow Queen? Meaning it is still copyrighted? If I ever adapt those fairy tales, it can still be by the fairy tale writers, just arranged into a better version. What is it mean by public domain? Just curious.Dream Huntress wrote:The Grimm Brothers' and Hans Christian Andersen's works are public domain.Polizzi wrote: Not even Rapunzel by the Grimm Brothers?
