This thread is an infraction of the rules. Escapay has to take antidepressents every time a thread like this is started and it aggrevates everyone else. If you want to talk about slipcovers, you need to do it here.

Sarcasm is NOT helpful and a little mean spirited. It does not encourage newcomers to stay around when they are treated disrespectfully. I would not treat a member of my own board that way and i certainly don't like when I am treated that way.

Sorry I did not know that discussions about slipcovers was a violation of the rules. Thanks MichaeLeah for the link. That was helpful.

The Admins may now close this thread.

Hey, it happened to me. But truely, I learned this from posting: look for all of the information that you want before you post, otherwise you will get some answers like mine, and you won't be a happy camper. That is if you like to camp. I just really can't stand it, and it smells really bad.

People, let's try to be nice to the new members. It'll feel better than venting over another slipcover thread - I guarantee it. :santa:

Also what is interesting is that Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest DVD 1-disc does not have slipcover while the 2 disc special edition does have slip cover and they call it on the box a Unique 3-D Packaging. I think this is one of the best slipcovers yet. Even though the slipcovers are not a must for me... If it's available i'll get it with the slipcover but if it does not contain one well thats ok too because it's the movie I am buying not a hunk of pretty decorated cardboard.

Well, I called the number listed in the thread that MichaeLeah posted but they won't send me a slipcover because my copy did not come with one originally. They would have sent me one if I had a damaged cover but they won't send one for any other reason. I had a damaged cover for Cars so I at least was able to get them to send me that. So...I guess I'm just tough out of luck unless I can locate a copy with a slipcover and buy it and sell the copy I just got. Oh well.

I've stopped with the antidepressants as they make me moody, and now just head straight for the merlot. It's much more soothing.

(Bartender pours Escapay another glass)

No, my good man, leave the bottle.

(Escapay makes a grab for the bottle)

Leave the bottle!

(Escapay grabs the bottle and fights with the bartender for it)

Dammit, give me that gorram bottle!

(The bottle drops and merlot spills everywhere.)

;)

:santa: Luke's right. And plus, people, remember, this is the Holiday Season, be nice to the new members! :santa:

P.S. I hope that my local Target still sells the BTE with slipcovers. I like it just because it's shiny, and gives the DVD an appealing look. Last time I went to Target, I saw BTE with slipcovers, but only a select few had them. I saw a whole bunch without slipcovers (Pocahontas: 10th Anniversary Edition, Toy Story: 10th Anniversary Edition, Toy Story II: Woody's RoundUp Edition, Alice In Wonderland: Masterpiece Edition, and A Bugs' Life: Collector's Edition). And the thing that really ticked me off was that those DVDs have NICE slipcovers! I would've purchased one of those, but the lack of slipcover turned me off (sorry, I'm high maitenence :D)

Pluto Region1 wrote:Would you buy a record album and then toss out the cardboard covering because it takes up room? So what is the difference with slip covers? they are part of the packaging; some of us think it is pretty important stuff (me included, although in desperation I will buy it without the slipcover).
I agree!! Some slip covers "complete" the movie!!

I don't remember the number, but I did that for "A Bug's Life" about a year ago when somebody here posted that when they called, they said they only had a few left, so I hope they still have some left for you. That came out in 2003 so the chances of them still having slip covers for it are slim. Also, the slip cover I received is a tight fit and it's a pain in the arse to watch the film because I spend about a minute trying to shimmy it out of the cover. lol. And now Escapay is probably thinking how rediculous it is that have to spend time to remove a slip cover, but it's so shinny and looks so good in between the two Toy Story slip covers...

It was posted in this thread. If this link doesn't work, the thread title is "Disney Customer Service" and the phone number was halfway down on on the first page. I do recall that the outcome of the thread was that Disney stopped supplying free slipcovers. If you have any success let us know. Here's the number posted in that thread. If the number doesn't work, go directly to the thread for more info.

Trust me, you're not the only one. I've got several unopened Disney DVDs because I have no time, either. Right now I can think of the following that I've purchased that I haven't watched yet: Lady & The Tramp; Lady & The Tramp II; Dumbo; Swiss Family Robinson; Bambi II; Brother Bear II; Snowball Express; The Happiest Millionaire. There may be more.

I heard that the original collector's edition of Brother Bear was never sold with a slipcover. Is that true? I got that and POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl from Best Buy without slipcovers and I am pretty sure POTC had a slipcover.

I keep all my slipcovers in a box because since some of my disney films do not slipcovers, it messes up my collection, plus they take up too much space

anyway do you think I would still be able to get slipcovers for Brother Bear and Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl?
