Sleepy Hollow - Johnny Depp + Tim Burton + Danny Elfman... how I hadn't seen this 'till now, I don't know, but it made for great Halloween-time viewing. I was surprised at just how many fantastic actors were in it besides Johnny (and I always like Christina Ricci and Halloween together too). A little bloodier than Burton normally is, which I found interesting. The story wasn't entirely solid, but was still pretty tight. As usual, the visual presence of a Burton film has won me over.

Chinatown - Definitely one of the better movies I've seen in a long time. Absolutely riveting. Remarkable acting and a very tightly executed plot! I can definitely see why it's such a film noir classic. I want to own this on DVD, but I have a feeling a SE will come as soon as I do.

Did you enjoy it? I really like the music in the movie. I wish they made the ending better though, especially the part where "The Big Kahuna" is surfing, that was so corny.

Love that noir stuff...I have plenty of recommendations if you are interested. Unfortunate about no SE DVD, but it was easily worth $10 that I paid for it.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Touchstone... but whatever. I liked it especially the first half. I might buy it previously viewed.

Bewitched - I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would. After hearing the plot I was disappointed a bit but I still was a little eager to see it. There are some questions I'm still wondering about but maybe I'll have to see the movie again to pick a few things up. I think I'll buy this previously viewed as well.

Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist: was good but not good enough. Funny how come it wasn't such a big difference from The Beginning.

The People Under the Stairs: It was a good movie. Interesting enough and good performances. Sadly, it needed so much more scares and ilumination .

Below: Seemed interesting but not that interesting as to hold my attention. So that's why I couldn't understand the whole story.

Just this minute came back from seeings 'Wallace and Gromit' at the cinema, the film was excellent, some of the jokes were 'childish', but what's wrong with that The cinema was packed, so i had to sit right at the front, but half way through i forgot i was in the cinema, it felt more like i was watching it at home , a deffinate buy on DVD

I just saw 'Elizabethtown' and was surprised at how good it was. Based on previews, I didn't think it even had a plot, so I didn't want to see it, but my mom did, so I went with her.
It's a very different, but very good movie all the same.

Halloween Resurrection: Might be because I'm no fan of the series. I just watched the first part and H20 and I forgot but I found it to be pretty good. That is, except the last minutes of the films (aka; the climax, pretty pathetic )

But it was a good movie overall.

What a coincidence, I also watched it! , in fact you also have the same opinion I have .

Not that I thought the movie was going to be awful, but since I'm no George Romero's fan, in fact, the only one I wacthed was Dawn of the Dead and didn't like it at all. So I imagined Land was going to be similar.

The movie is very gory, in fact, extremely (one of the goriest I've seen, and I've seen plenty of horror movies). But it is very well thought, and has a nice and interesting story.... and for once, FOR ONCE.... there's a horror movie that doesn't have a rock/heavy metal soundtrack.


In fact, now I'm thinking on getting it. Not because that I'm in a hurry but Walmart has this special where the movie is sold alongside Boogeymen Compilation. Is this DVD worth it?

Pretty good list of movies there Lazario except I wouldn't consider the John Waters films as horror films. They are gender-bending classics. Good list though.

Yeah, everything John Waters does is gender-bending by one degree or another. But I wasn't saying they were horror films, they were just among the last non-Disney movies I watched. I finally was able to add Female Trouble and Pink Flamingos to my collection with my Birthday money and had an itching to watch JW's whole catalog. I always think of his films as more Thanksgiving fare. But they were just too tempting the resist.

Drumlime - I don't really have a lot of thoughts on the movie. The drumming and formations looked/sounded cool, but the story and acting were extremely weak and unsatisfying.

I spent the day with my friend (who took a day off work) watching movies. Okay so we only got three in but we had to have time in there for 'Survivor' and then there was time for the gym and a bit of grcoery shopping.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Two Burton flicks, two Depp flicks.

It was a good day although I wanted to get ''The Omen in there but it never happened.

Amazingly I found out my friend has never seen any of these which surprised me a bit for 'Sleepy Hollow' but I was completely shocked by 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' since she loves the style of the movie.

Watched a couple of good ones tonight with a large pizza from Papa Murphy's (take and bake pizza, they make it and you bake it at home, mmmm good!!!):

Bewitched - this is probably one of the better Will Ferrell movies. He and Nicole Kidman were made to play Darrin and Samatha and this movie is very well made. Michael Caine is great as Nicole's 'daddy' and Shirley MacLaine chews up the scenery each time she is on the screen. Lots of laughs and tears in this one. I like it a lot!

My Friend Irma - the movie that introduced an unsuspecting world to Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. This movie is hilarious as Dean and Jerry play juice-bar employees who are duped into trying to get into showbiz. Very good movie from 1949. On the same disc is the sequel My Friend Irma Goes West which we will watch tomorrow night.

I say yesterday The 40-Year-Old Virgin.
It was cute, and far better than anything else I've seen of the genre, but I still wasn't too impressed with the outcome. Fun hour and a half, but I won't be seeing this again any time soon...

This morning while I am cruising the UD, I have the movie "Let It Be" with The Beatles playing in the background. I have a LD to DVD+R transfer of the movie and it is just great company to have playing while I am here.
