Re: High Resolution Textless Disney Posters
Vlad, ever seen this? Has anyone here seen any bigger version of this poster?

Re: High Resolution Textless Disney Posters
Hey Duster
Nope, never saw that one. But if I find it, I'll be sure to post it here

Re: High Resolution Textless Disney Posters
I have to post this, because it's so funny. This is a textless version of the art for Return of Jafar's DVD debut back in 2005. When it has the logo, it looks great, but without it, Jafar looks so weird.

Re: High Resolution Textless Disney Posters
Since the holiday season is approaching, here's some nice artwork of Mickey & co decorating a Christmas tree. All characters look really nice, but Belle looks awful. Her hand on the floor looks particularly bad (where are her fingers, why does it look like a doll's hand?), and the bow and her hair have the same color.
What do you guys think?

Marce, I'd love to hear your thoughts on these and the Jafar poster, too. I'll get my popcorn ready.

I have another interesting one. This is not a poster, but a publicity still for Pinocchio. I might be wrong, but I think it was made for the 1992 reissue in theaters. I remember seeing it on the back art for the 1993 VHS.

Not particularly good either. It kinda makes Monstro look a lot smaller than he's in the final movie.

@Vlad, regarding that christmas poster with Belle, it's clearly that the artist that drew Belle thought that her hand was supposed to be behind something.
But it does look very bad!
Also, Jafar does look better on the poster with the text, without the text, he really looks funny
I also loved the original VHS cover way more, the one where he looks at the gang through the crystal ball.

Woah... that poster for Simbad is TERRIBLE.
You gotta love bad perspective, slipshod anatomy (both leads have no craniums, to start) and I especially love how the blue lady's eye is encroaching on her nose. Really works. Top notch.
Hahaha
PS: also love the girl's huge sausage fingers... either she is retaining water, or she is from that universe from "Everything Everywhere All at Once"

Re: High Resolution Textless Disney Posters
^^ I went back to look at the Sinbad poster after reading what you wrote and now I can't unsee those things, lol!
What I don't understand is, how do professional artists hired by major studios make these mistakes? If I recall, that artwork was used for Sinbad's ORIGINAL theatrical poster!
I realise that whoever drew it was likely not part of DreamWorks Animation, and probably hired by the marketing department, but still ...

Here are some publicity stills that Disney has created for their direct to video sequels. Some of them look really nice, others look quite bad.

Re: High Resolution Textless Disney Posters
I love how Cinderella has a cut in her apron in the Cinderella II pics like she kept it from her servant days for some reason, and how she's inexplicably apart of scenes she never was in in Cinderella III.

I know this one doesn't fall into the "poster" category, but would anyone happen to have a hi-res version of Sorcerer Mickey from the Walt Disney Home Video logo??

I was sure you'd pick up on those details, Duster.Disney Duster wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2024 10:54 pm I love how Cinderella has a cut in her apron in the Cinderella II pics like she kept it from her servant days for some reason, and how she's inexplicably apart of scenes she never was in in Cinderella III.

Haha, you're so right.

Re: High Resolution Textless Disney Posters
Hey guys, I found this Japanese poster for Anastasia.

They chose a very weird picture of her for the top portion. She should have faced the camera; in this pose, she looks weird, because she's looking at nothing.
A better option would have been her Grandmother in the bottom portion, looking in the opposite direction.
