I was wondering why Amy got so excited...so that would mean Kristen Chenoweth isn't gonna be Rapunzel.
Kristen Chenoweth would have made a good Rapunzel if they wanted to make it more of a comedy movie (Shrek), but I guess now they want to make a more serious fairytale, which I think is good news for us.
Lasseter also said Disney would be tackling one of the few non-Disneyed fairytale princesses – Rapunzel. But this one will be much more about girl power – far more kick-ass than Cinderella ever was. Her 70ft-long hair would not, said Lasseter, be just "a passive object of beauty". It would be a central part of the film and viewers can expect to see her using it as Indiana Jones would use his whip.
With all this news coming form D23 and the amazing trailers for Princess and the Frog I'm starting to feel that magic kick I got back in the 90s when a new animated film was coming out. Very exciting.

I'm disappointed that Kristin isn't getting the role (maybe she'll have another chance one day), but the Mandy Moore news doesn't come as a surprise, given she already has ties to the Disney family thanks to her role in the first "Princess Diaries". Hope she does a great job.
I'm glad they passed over the Cheno... she has a very... distinct, almost cartoonish voice that probably doesn't work well for a more straight-forward fairy tale like this seems to be ending up.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"

Puh-leeeeeease!!!
I believe this is Sunday actually (technically today, its 2:57 in the morning). The presentation where John Lasseter discusses Rapunzel is on at 11, so I will post what was shown ASAP. Don't expect footage though because they are being incredibly strict with the cameras and such.

So does Mandy Moore, but...eh...at least she sounds youthful--if somewhat obnoxious.
Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"

Well, if they want the public to know Rapunzel exists they'd better put the trailer on the internet pronto! At least I hope they're not going to take their time about it, hehe.
And thanks for your reports, you colourful thing, you.

Just trying to help out all those who were unfortunate enough not to be able to make it to the expo
