What is it to cover ? She has a bra and her lower half is a fish !

This doesn't make sense.

Als a noteworthy thing about this casting. Haile by far the youngest actress to play a live action disney princess or a Disney Princess in general only Auliʻi Cravalho was younger.

Also why hasn't Auliʻi Cravalho gotten more roles after Moana ?
Studios shoud be offreing her jobbs !

Should be really good as Elphaba if that movie ever geys made.

Well, Sotiris was referencing Jasmine being more covered up in the live action remake so it's not beyond consideration that Disney may want to cover Ariel's midriff. I hope they don't, and I don't expect they will, but it's certainly possible.

They probably will change her underwater design to cover her up more, although I'd rather they left it as it is. Belle's blue peasant dress and Aladdin's street rat outfits were both mostly the same in the live-action films, with slight differences. I'm guessing the wedding dress will probably look the most different of her various outfits.

She has a beautiful voice. Swedish Belle is also great !

Also the Swedish live action Belle unlike Emma Watson had singing background.

I saw as Christine in Phantom Of the Opera some years ago before she got the part of Belle.
At least the Swedes recognized the importance of casting an actual singer for the part. I always wanted the actress who portrayed Christine in Phantom of the Opera (Emmy Rossum) to portray Belle. She had the looks, acting and singing abilities, all of which Emma Watson lacked. Even the original choice for Christine, Anne Hathway, would have been perfect as Belle especially after Les Miserables.

in swedish dubbs of Disney movies we almost always cast people who can sing. In fact most animated movie dubbs are done by people with singing baground even if ithe movie has no singing in it. Because the skill need to dubb is similar to the one need to sing i have heard

We almost never use another voice for singing in any animated or live action dubbs. Odley enough Baloo is one of the few Disney characters who has a different voice for talking and singing.

Letting go of the way Ariel’s hair should look, I think this will still be good even if I’ll most likely put it below Aladdin-B&tB-TJB. I still think Awkwafina’s the best casting decision so far. They took an annoying character like Scuttle and made me actually interested in what the character will be like.

Omg she's so pretty and I love how she comes across! Hm...maybe she will really capture Ariel, but I think I will at least like watching her!

So, it'll just be one new song after all?

That photo with Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda side-by-side is really heartwarming.

Excited to see what music Menken and Miranda make together. With Moana and his role in Mary Poppins Returns, I think Lin-Manuel Miranda has proven himself to be a natural fit for Disney (although he also has promising projects set up at Warner Bros, Netflix and Sony Animation). I have limited experience with Hamilton and I'm not familiar with In the Heights, but he's impressed me so far with his Disney output. Seeing both of these songwriters' sensibilities collide for The Little Mermaid has a good chance of leading to something special.

Everything about Lin-Manuel Miranda has struck me as someone who's super excited and passionate about the job offers he's being given. And to think, all it took was a rap-themed musical about the Founding Fathers. What a fascinating career trajectory.

I’m fine with it. The less Miranda influence on the soundtrack, the better. I imagine it will be another song for Sebastian, the character he’ll be playing.

It could be more than one song. Maybe they're writing one song at a time.

I just want Her Voice and If Only to be in the movie. :(

I'm watching some of Chloe x Halle's music videos rn ("Warrior" from Wrinkle in Time, "who knew" from Grown-ish, "Fall") to get an idea of Bailey's mannerisms. I still haven't seen any of grown-ish the show yet, but I can see her doing pretty well in the role.

By my calculations, Elle Fanning was 15/16 when she first played Princess Aurora.

Welp, Disney is apparently settling for Harry Styles as Eric. Not saying he's a bad choice, but they could have done better. Cameron Boyce would have been a good one :(

Not feeling this choice. But I suppose it means a new Prince Eric song is a lock?

Oh, no! Now this is a casting decision worthy of a hashtag. We also have confirmation there'll only be one new song. :( I'm guessing it's going to be either an Eric solo or an Ariel/Eric duet.
For the new iteration of the fairy tale, Menken will update his score and compose a new song with lyrics from Lin-Manuel Miranda. An early 2020 production start is being planned.

So the Harry Styles rumors were real. Literally anyone could play Prince Eric. There's not much there there. At least Styles does have a nice smile. I'd have liked someone with black hair, but... It's not like his hair was as distinctive as Ariel's and that's gone, so... *shrug*
