OK... So Pat did a Q&A two days before the one I saw, and was more specific about what she recorded. It is now more clear that this is part of the menu or Disney Intermission, NOT a scene IN the actual movie that she made it sound like when I saw her.

Here is the full Q&A (Not the one I attended) The part she talks about TLM 3D starts at 17:55

Actually, she did say The Little Mermaid 3D coming out next year, she didn't say the Blu Ray and notice she said she did it an April. This sounds like something that would play in the theaters more than a menu for the Blu ray. She said Ursula tries to get the audience to sign a contract while in an underwater movie house with Floatsem and Jetsom but then a bunch of Ipads fall in and crash on her. To be honest this sounds like something that would play before the movie like get ready to watch this film. Could this mean that it is coming to theaters next year and she let it slip? This gives me new hope for it coming to theaters.

Actually that sounds like a menu; people, remember The Return of Jafar.

Yes, it could be a theatre policy trailer. Disney has done that before with some of their animated films. I recall the ones for Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons and more recently Frankenweenie. Have there been more?

It's too bad that we won't be able to watch the new Ursula one - if it's indeed a policy trailer - now that the theatrical release has been cancelled. I wish they would include it on the Blu-ray but knowing Disney they won't. It's such a shame; it sounded like fun.

Umm... The theatrical rerelease was said to have been cancelled back in January and Pat said she did the voiceover in April.

Maybe it is just an anti-smoking PSA before the movie about Grimm smoking his pipe.

If it plays in cinemas before the movie then that's fine, but I don't want that to be the menu for the blu ray ! Sounds bizzare that it would be, definitely sounds more like a cinema advert.

Marvelous interview! And with regards to Ursula, best voicework ever for a disney villainess! If I understand her correctly we can expect a similar opening sequence like TLK 1 1/2 (3).. Much funnier though. Oh how I wished for her return in TLM 3 :((

I don't know. The grand theatre set up seems an awful lot like the Disney Intermission for The Muppets blu-ray.

Disney Norway have confirmed that they have no release date for a 3D version of The Little Mermaid. I wonder if a 3D version will be released in Norway next year, as was the case with Beauty and the Beast 3D and The Lion King 3D. Will any European countries get the 3D version at all this year?

At this point I am extremely doubtful, but are Disney planning on re-releasing the soundtrack? With something more than the same CD as before, just a different cover? What do you think the chances are....... rotfl

I would think it's likely. It is one of the more popular soundtracks they have; but I think nearly all the princess films would get re-released soundtracks with every new release, just because it's more money boosted by the DP line.

It will just be the same old re release won't it? No bonus of demo songs et ? I suppose the closest we could get to 'bonus' songs would be Princess themed.

What would be of some enjoyment would be to have a collection of songs from 'Ariel's Beginning'; I Remember and I Will Sing especially.

I would love if they do a Collector's Edition Soundtrack with some new "Lost Chords" songs, just like they did with Cinderella's soundtrack last year.

Disney COULD release a soundtrack with demos and unused songs like those featured on "The Music Behind The Magic: The Musical Artistery of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice" (1994) that featured The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin soundtracks.

Disney COULD release an extended score of The Little Mermaid, Alan Menken's music is really amazing. (The same idea applies for Beauty, Aladdin, Pocahontas (If I Never Knew You and the short reprise of the song sung by Kuhn/Gibson have never been featured on a soundtrack release), Hunchback, Hercules... Disney also have demoes and unused songs from all those movies that COULD have been released.)

Disney will most likely do neither;)
