I have a feeling most who reads this thread would agree on that :P

It's weird suddenly to have all information on what will be on the DVD. It's SO close and yet soooo far away. Sigh.

I'm just happy to see the trailer for 101 Dalmatians on the DVD. Do you think that Disney will have the trailer on DVDs before the TLM DVD?? I hope so, I only have the VHS, and I can't wait to get this movie, it is a FANTASTIC MOVIE! Not as FANTASTIC as Fantasia, but it's pretty good! ^_^

Well I can't claim to have read the last 10 or so pages of this thread, but I've been checking in! And I don't think we covered this yet, but is this expected to come out in a slipcover AND if I pre-ordered it through Amazon (which I just did using the UD link! :P ) will I get a slipcover? How does the slipcover thing work? Is it EVERY copy gets a slipcover at first for a set time period and then later releases don't or does the initial release also have non-slipcovered issues?

I'm assuming that all Platinum Edition releases will come with a slipcover. But I'm not too sure about copies ordered from Amazon. Since you preordered yours, I would expect it to come with one.

But to answer your other question, all copies are issued with slipcovers. Disney tells retailers to remove the slipcovers after a certain amount of time. I have no idea why, but they do. Personally, I hate it because I got my Cinderella DVD late and want my slipcover!

You'll get your slipcover from Amazon for The Little Mermaid pre-order don't worry. In my experiences with Amazon you seem to have a few months or so at least to order a DVD before you run the risk of not getting the slipcover included.

I hope we get a slipcover in The Netherlands. Snow White didn't have one. Beauty and the Beast was a beautyful digipack. The Lion King had a slipcover. Aladdin and Bambi didn't have one, but Cinderella and Lady and the Tramp did have one. So it's a bit unpredictable.
Disney's musical Tarzan. Coming to Holland 2007.

Now that is pretty diabolical on behalf of Disney! What is that about?!

Thanks ! Whew! If they don't send me one, I'm returning it for lack of slipcover!

No one got a slipcover for Snow White, Disney started with Beauty & The Beast.

I disagree, I think the Danish cover is horrible, Ariel doesn't even look like herself, the only good thing about it is they actually remembered to include Prince Eric, one of the main characters in the film.

The Japanese cover is cool, but only for a slipcover, or a special Edition boxset or something, like how Cinderella's boxset simply had the glass slipper with the Prince's castle in the background. The Japanese cover is good, it just doesn't provide enough information and isn't very appealing to little kids, who of course are the largest audience for this movie.

As for the R1, R3, R4 Cover, I think it's the best of the three (or four, R1 and R4 are very similiar) except all the character look like they are Computer Generated Images, and Ariel looks much older than her 16 year old self. They also should've included Prince Eric, and perhaps Flotsam and Jetsam swimming around Ursula.

You forgot one thing - The UK cover isnt the real one... dont forget the final one will get plastered with rating logos and the horrible blue/purple-ish spraypainted right bottom cover...

Im voting for the US one!

Im very dissapointed about the Danish one... it looks so homemade compared to what we usually get here...

The Danish cover is actually beginning to grow on me. Perhaps it's because I KNOW I will have to get used to it eventually, but I certainly doesn't hate it as much as when it first showed itself online.

I still have a feeling the Japanese one is fake. Why not have anything in Japanese on the cover, if that is the language spoken in the movie? I think it's pretty, but I'm not seeing being released. Like stated just above, IMO, it would only work on a giftset or likewise.

I'm gonna go with the Danish one. For now ;)

I like the UK cover best, I prefer it how 'classics' is at the top and in white. I think it looks better without the banners also, even if we do get age ratings and stuff on the cover, I still prefer it to the other covers.

Hey guys I'm new here and I'm from Germany. I really love "The little mermaid" and was excited to hear about the Platinum release of this wonderful movie. But in Germany the movie had been redubbed in 1998 for the re-release and the new dubbing is simply awful!! Also in Germany we will only get a 1-Disc edition of the Platinum release, which really freaks us out!!
It's just sooooo unfair
We will have the ugly Danish cover, too.
Could you please help us get our old and simply georgous first dubing of 1990 back?
If you would please sign that petition for us! There's a English version of it:
http://www.petitiononline.com/1006tlm/petition.html
It would mean so much to us. Thank you!![/i][/url]

Great. Why do Denmark end up being blamed :P

Anyhow, I guess this shows that the cover isn't exclusive to Danes. Which means it prob hasn't been made in Denmark either - Hurray for handing over the responsibility to someone else!

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear about your redubbing. I would hate if that had happened here too.

I didn't wanna blame the Danish. :oops:I was just annoyed that all the other countries get nicer covers than we do. I heard the first time of this cover when someone was talking about the Danish one. I think the Japanese one really is simply georgous!!!
