What is up with Disney and it's cover art lately? Really disappointed with the DVD cover art and am praying that the UK DVD cover is the same as the blu-ray.

Honestly? I've never been happy with Disney's cover art, even in the old VHS days.

But I'm picky like that.
Haha, it's just this one is particularly bad, surely Disney could've made it better

Well I think Disney changed the actual 2-Disc DVD because A LOT of people got confused with the Blu-ray and DVD Blu-ray combo packs and returned them after opening them and I am sure the store put up a fight and a lot of people called Disney to complain. So They are gonna make it easier for people to tell the difference now. Lol
Sadly your guess is pretty wrong. Believe it or not as dumb as you think cunsumers are they know that the Blu Ray isle contains *gasp* Blu Ray movies! I could see it happening every nwo and again, but no rush to return things. I'm suprised my mom knew what blu ray was the other day
I've been thinking about it- this is kind of sort of related to BATB, and I'm not sure if other people have said this, or whatever- but I think the whole reason Disney put the hag on the BD case of Snow was to make the cover less appealing, so less people would buy it, and then Disney could say- "Oh, that's proof! People prefer DVD cases!" and then they could start selling BDs that way, so they could confuse customers.
If that was the case, it must not have worked because the Toy Story and BATB artwork are identical.
The problem is that many retailers stock the DVD combo packs in the DVD aisle outside the Blu-ray aisle. That's where the confusion kicks in and then it goes from there.

That's true. I've come across that myself. Particularly with the ones in the DVD cases. They keep releases in Blu-ray cases and releases in DVD cases in seperate aisles regardless of their content. The sticker on Snow White's combo didn't help any either.
Also, does anyone know why Disney doesn't tend to make digital copies for their original animated classics? Are they afraid of them being on iPods?? Snow White didn't include a digital copy, but new release Princess and the Frog did. Do they only make digital copies for new releases? I like the digital copies for when I travel, and I wish they would make them for all the DACs.

I never said anyone was "stupid" I said people got "confused" There is a bit of a difference!
Anyway, @ The_Iceflash, I agree. That happened to me with the Toy Story 1 and 2 Combo Pack DVD's
Thank God I figured it out before I opened them!
I returned them to get the blu-ray packaging to fit my blu-ray section of my shelf lol.
I LOVE the DVD cover for Beauty and the Beast: Diamond Edition!
Okay, I don't think it's necessarily the best one, but I particularly like this one. I like how they got so many characters in, and the composition is just interesting, but if there's one thing, doesn't everyone think the logo shaped like a rose is so creative and great? I mean, it's beautiful. But I think this cover is definately better than the last DVD cover we had. Somehow the floating here works because they aren't over a space of nothing, and it feels like magical floating.
I think the best cover though, overall, is...Enigmawing's latest change to the Blu-ray cover, with the rose logo!
The only thing is, Enigma, please fix the Beast's eyes so he's not looking at her...chest. And Belle's eyes so they aren't looking at his horns. Have them look at each other! I also noticed you made the rose have the pink glow! The rest of the magic disney dust doesn't have the correct "lots of little particles" look but don't even bother with that.
I think the rose logo is the best one, with the round one we saw first being second best, because something about their roundness fits with the roundess of the ballroom more. Can't explain it. But the rose logo looks best definately! It's so geniusly beautiful!
It's because of the 4% PAL speedup. The classification Coolmanio linked to is for the 2010 video classification. There's a 2001 film classification for the IMAX that runs 1:30:07
