Well, he did say:
I love the one with the crocodile.

That one really has that original "Disney Classic" look.
Anyway, I love the concept art for the film, so I don't mind looking at those images again. The one of the swamp is my favorite, where all the tree limbs meet in the middle.

Yes, that's the one I was talking about, thanks.

And I like the concept art too, especially the one of the swamp.

Nice picture!

I do hope though, that they don't make it too much "slapstick" like all the 3d films, and they will have some serious, beautiful scenes with real heart.

I agree!! I think thats one of the reasons why the more recent 2D Animated features didnt do as well. I think we are all ready for another Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast...something with tons of heart and very little "slapstick" humor. I think that and weaker story lines (not the 2D animation itself) was the problem all along.

You are right.

For example, I think the scene "Will the sun ever shine again" really rescued the film "Home on the range".
And at first they didn't even want to put it in!

That's the problem, too many jokes, too little heart.

As long as the film has its heart in the right place the amount of slapstick shouldn't even matter. New Groove for example is one big giany comedy ride. But beneath the surface it has lots of heart. Same goes for Aladdin. So I'm okay with Princess having some decent amount of slapstick.

its a cartoon, it would be stupid not to have slapstick, that's what makes them entertaining. if their just going to be serious all the time, you might as well shoot this live action.

The Princess and the Frog

Post by Disney Duster »

Huh Kyle? You mean heart, emotion, drama, romance, and magical occurences can't be entertaining?

Anyway, it seems they've changed the princess' crown, less spikes on it, for the better. But I hate her dress being blue. That's almost every princess' gown. Why not make it green? Froggy foreshadowing! But I really hate that they stole Cinderella's sparkling dress quality for this princess' dress.

I'm with u on that, I think a lot of the older DACs are a little more serious, and I hope they stick to that, coz if you've seen a funny movie once, then the jokes get old, but if you've got drama in the movie then it never gets old, you have something to think about everytime you watch it.

Somehow I have a feeling they'll find a good balance with this . . . I think Disney realizes it's time for another "classic" princess film and will do the genre justice.

And this is just me but I love the look of the blue dress on her, as well as the overall colors I've seen. :)

Umm, where did I say that? Im talking about what separates animation from live action. Slapstick in animation is different than the live action brand and helps it stand out.
You still need balance of both of course in a feature.

I agree about the dress. I really wish they'd change it. Not only is it a mimic of the stereotypical princess dress, it's ugly to boot.

But I kinda liked the tiara the way it was (as seen in enigmawing's signature).

I hope that the movie goes good as well, story wise. More on the story and heart, and not more on slapstick. Otherwise, I'll go all Nostalgia Critic on Disney.

You know how '90s films always had famous singers/bands singing end credits version of movie's main song? In case Disney goes back to doing this, who do you want to sing PatF's main tune?

My picks: Leona Lewis, Whitney Houston (if she gets her act back together by the time PatF comes out) or Christina Aguilera.

Oh, and about the pic: I don't like it (Tiana looks weird), but it's supposed to be a still from the trailer, that's why she looks funny.
