I don't care for the cover either, but I think it's pretty obvious the red-haired chick is the eponymous mermaid. She's the biggest object on the cover and centered....and the seashell bra is a giveaway, too. I suppose the artist responsible for the design figured that Ariel is so iconic that obscuring her tail wouldn't matter.

You can definately tell that Ariel is a mermaid on the cover; not only can you see the end of her tail, but around her waist you can see where the mermaid part of her begins.

I think that this model of Ursula is very good because she looks really evil, but also shows some elegance like Maleficent

I think they had all those concept art drawings of Ursula on display at the Animation attraction at Disney Studios before it was changed. They also had models and concept work for a lot of other characters too. Anyhow, I don't really like the one that everyone keeps reposting. It's a really cool concept, but I think it's too much like the previous female villains and it sort of takes away from the timelessness of the movie because it looks like she has a distinct 1980's mohawk.

Disneyshopping.com cannot ship to the below countries, so unless you live on Heard & McDonald Islands, then I think you're okay with preordering it :thumb:! Yay! Though I think shipping charges will be a lot more expensive.

tttt wrote:don't know if it has been said before (41 pages!) but I'm not very satisfied with the cover art. mostly because we don't see that the girl is a mermaid. her fish tail is almost completely hidden with the title logo. her tail is her most significant and interesting feature and we can't see it. on the original poster, her tail was nicely displayed, although the whole thing looked a lot like a family portrait.
Yeah, I've said it before(twice I think). They really should show her tail more. Only the two of us think it should be shown more. :(

As I had already said, aside from Heard and McDonald Islands (which may just be island territories owned by Austailia for all I know), I'm pretty sure DisneyShopping.com will ship products to Austrailia since it is not on the list of countires in which they cannot ship DVDs. So if you live in Austailia, you're okay with ordering from them! :) If not, I'm sure they'll stop you at checkout before you give out credit card information.

Alas, you may not be correct in this, as HappyPug points out:
HappyPug wrote:Buy it and see what happens.
Sign up, put your credit card through, get excited.
Then see what happens.

You'll get a confirmation email saying "Yes, heres your order number ooh and an exciting 10% next purchase electronic voucher"

And you'll be sitting there all excited cos you've only got a month a bit to wait till you get Little Mermaid.

Then, in the next 24 hours,
you'll get an email saying that they don't ship to Australia.
They don't give a reason, they just don't.

I asked a lady at Disneyland once why that was and she said....
" Oh, do our DVDs work there do they? "
Mmmm. Good to see people have stopped thinking Australians
live on farms and ride round in Kangaroos.

Shockingly we have DVD players too.

Legally, I think its because they don't want to deal with whinging trendy mums ordering it for their little princess daughter Bettina, who
orders it from Disney Direct, puts in the in her old crap Australian
non-multiregion DVD player, it doesn't work, gets
all huffy (as whinging mums do) and threatens to sue Disney for selling her a shoddy product.

Thats why they don't ship to non Region 1 countries.

Amazon warns you not to order DVDs if you don't know they'll work.
Disney's sites don't.

Heck try to buy a Five Grand crystal Beauty & The Beast Statue off
Disney Auctions. Even if you win, they don't send to Australia.

Cos it might break?

No. For no reason at all.

They've done it with every Platinum release to me.

But try it for yourself.
But fairly warned be thee says I.

Does anyone have any pictures of "The Little Mermaid 2 - Return To Sea Special Edition" cover, as I've seen the box set cover art and "The Little Mermaid 2-Disc Special Edition" cover art, I just really want to see TLM2 now?

Ok so why does the box set say " Magical Full-Length Movies"?!?!?!?!?!?!
Wouldn't it be just 2? :?

Also, are the little mermaid II bonus features new or just a carry over like they always do and add a few sing alongs and stupid games? If so, NOT WORTH IT!

And... wil R1 get something like that? :D

Is it just or me or does the restoration result seem to be a bit exaggaraed? The Before pic looks more pale than ever!

I don't think that picture is a true comparison of the restoration. Disney usually takes promotional images and softens and pales one side of it. Then they go and claim it's a restoration comparison. The back covers for Bambi and Cinderella are examples of this.

I hope the back cover of the US version looks better. This one looks cheap and the colors seem so washed out. I was hoping for a more vibrant look. *Crossing my fingers for something better*
