Anyway, I posted this comment on the High School Musical 3 thread and I'm still wondering, what's the MPAA (got it right this time!) deal with gays? How come there as bad as drugs, violence, sex and swearing in films? the example I used there was the film Touch of Pink. A film that hardly has any swearing, sex, no blood gore etc and yet it gets an R rating. If it were a straight couple it would probably only get PG (PG-13 tops).
What's up with them anyway?

I stand by the fact that I'm Bi (but with gay leanings, much like, say, Anthony Rapp) but thank you for that. That really does make me feel awesome!Flanger-Hanger wrote:I knew you'd say something like that. If there's one gay guy who truly deserves him, it's you Jiminy.
Things have changed since '06 but I think you really should see a movie called This Film Is Not Yet Rated by Kirby Dick. It's a documentary film about the MPAA, the ratings, rating appeals, conterdiction to there own rules, and many other intersting things. I saw it in a less than legal way since I can't find it ANYWHERE but I kinda think that Kirby guy would not care and just like the fact that people are seeing the film anyway they can. It's truly a riveting watch and although they don't focus on the gay aspect they touch upon in it in a wonderful way. See it!Flanger-Hanger Also wrote: Anyway, I posted this comment on the High School Musical 3 thread and I'm still wondering, what's the MPAA (got it right this time!) deal with gays? Did you read his Bio? I have not in some time but I believe I read and have in an interview had him say he says he is 'Queer'. Which to him is very gay but with some attraction to for certain women. Not that it matters since he is so awesome anyway.PeterPanfan wrote:Actually, Anthony Rapp is fully gay.

I agree Amy, he's gotten better looking since HSM2. HSM he was, not so great (the hair was...ugh) and Hairspray...well let's just say I'm not into Elvis impersonators (though that is his most likable role). I thought he was also too girly at first but he's starting to grow on me. I still however don't see the appeal of most celebrities (Orlando Bloom, that unattractive soccer player everyone seems to like). Celebrity crushes are just weird IMO.

I think that most guys just don't understand celebrity crushes. The overwhelming vast majority of girls & women that I have known have had celebrity crushes- my grandmother even had a crush on Dave Thomas (the founder of Wendy's). I think that girls' brains are just programmed to have celebrity crushes. I've never not had celebrity crushes, lol.Flanger-Hanger wrote: Celebrity crushes are just weird IMO.

Yeah, celebrity crushes are mostly based on who's attractive and who's not. Very rarely can you get a sense of someone's personality without being around them on a personal basis.
See, this has to be proof you can't tell. I really just thought he was an open-minded straight guy. We need more of those.Actually, Anthony Rapp is fully gay.
I can definitely see where you're coming from. While I, myself, could be attracted to just about any type of guy, Zac Efron is very metrosexual. I've always thought it was strange that so many gay guys take on feminine characteristics (purposefully). I thought being gay meant you wanted to date guys? Not girls in barely male bodies?Am I the only (gay) guy in the world who doesn't see the appeal of Zac Efron? He's just too... girly for me.

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ "Elizabeth Taylor"
Katy Perry ~ "bandaid"
Meghan Trainor ~ "Still Don't Care"
