The three movies based on park attractions are: THE COUNTRY BEARS, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion. ;)

I believe the other movie is Tower of Terror!

After being blown away at the features on "Pirates of the Caribbean," I was hoping "The Haunted Mansion would be a 2-disc set, as well. I also liked how with the "Pirates" DVD, people who didn't appreciate the Widescreen format had to sit through it anyway. (Na, na, na, na, na, na, na)
I believe the Widescreen only decision is more of a Jerry Bruckheimer decision than a Disney decision. He did the same for Pearl Harbor, and even non-Disney Bruckheimer films like Bad Boys II are widescreen only releases.

I guess Disney are just as "comitted" to full screen releases as before... don't read too much into the Pirates of the Caribbean DVD release.

Just to clear this up.

The first movie Disney made out of a themepark ride was Tower of Terror, but that doesn't count as a theatrical feature. It was a Wonderful World of Disney movie.

Then a few years later somebody must've remembered Tower of Terror's success because they greenlit and made (#1) The Country Bears (2002), (#2) Pirates of the Carribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) and (#3) The Haunted Mansion (2003), which bowed in theaters to varrying degrees of success. Country Bears was a bomb; Pirates of the Caribbean was a huge blockbuster megahit; and Haunted Mansion lost money, too, I think, but it will be a modest success once merchendising and DVD sales/rentals are figured in. And it did get audience attention during its first week, but quickly dropped afterwords.

You didn't mention who you where quoting, but I think they forgot about "Tower of Terror," or didn't include it because it was made for television. I'm pretty sure the other movie the person you quoted was talking about is "The Country Bears."

Goofystitch,

I don't know how to quote someone; I just know how to quote. It was referring to awallaceunc though.

The Country Bears is a ride?

The Country Bears is based on The Country Bears Jamboree, which is more of a concert/live show than a ride, but it is a Walt Disney World attraction.

Thanks for the info Jake.

I haven't been to WDW since I was very young, and pretty much all I can remember is throwing up on Goofy's shoes.

I hopefully am going to Disneyland sometime this year. My cousins live about 40 minutes from it. One is 5 and the other is 12. I should have gone when I was 16 or so when I had the chance, but didn't. I don't think they have the country bears there do they?

Sweet! Are there going to be separate releases or both versions on one disc. I don't really mind as long as I can see the movie in widescreen.
Dragon, not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.

But keep in mind <a href=http://www.ultimatedisney.com/forum/vie ... 3>Disney's new policy</a> which WILL affect The Haunted Mansion on DVD....

As I've commented on before, I'm a little dissapointed its not a 2-Disc, but the bonuses look good regardless. I'm particularly looking forward to the virtual tour - looks like it may be fun (I just hope it has better production value than the Virtual Safari)

Any idea when you'll get the cover art, Lukey?
