Aladdin 2
Re: Aladdin 2
Really sad about this one. Honestly, I was hopeful, but I always had a feeling there won't be a second one, since they didn't make anything with BatB as well.

Stumbled upon this from a few months ago and didn't see it on the forum, so I thought I'd drop it here.
No solid news, I'm afraid, but it's nice to know we're not alone.

I'd very much like to. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that experience. It was a great experience. That whole Disney thing, as you can imagine, is such a professional outfit. Just from that perspective, it was so much fun. I would very much like to, we'll wait and see. We have been kicking some ideas around for some time now, but it'd be great to do, it would be great to go back there.

Re: Aladdin 2
I think they're mostly waiting to see if TLK's sequel bombs or not before greenlighting this. A shame, since I think a sequel to this would be more interesting considering the cast, whereas the TLK movie is more of a prequel I believe?

So not really, I'm sure they have their reasons. I know they were trying for a long time. So I don't know what the obstacles exactly were. But maybe now after the strike is over, they'll continue to try to get it off the ground ... But I hope, I hope definitely that it happens in some way."

Sounds like he hasn’t heard anything in a while though.
Aladdin and Jasmine’s kids might make a popular Disney Jr show, wouldn’t want to see it in a movie.

Re: Aladdin 2
He was good as Aladdin. Actually looked and felt like the character unlike some others I can think of. Glad to see he's been cast as the lead in a romantic film since I remember a few years back he said he had no career prospects outside of TV. It's good to see that changing and more MENA representation.
Re: Aladdin 2
The last time he has said anything, he said that it's not happening. Not sure if Disney want to associate themselves with Will Smith again, but then Mufasa doing well might make them consider doing a sequel to Aladdin. They can always recast the Genie if it's such an issue.

Re: Aladdin 2
But who would you recast Genie with? It would have to be an A-list actor and knowing Disney, they'd make him black still because it would be too controversial to recast with a white or non-black actor.Farerb wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 6:44 pm The last time he has said anything, he said that it's not happening. I expect this will happen sooner after Mufasa's success.

Imagine thinking Mufasa is a success when its had a billion dollar drop from its predecessor.

Re: Aladdin 2
Imagine pretending a successful film isn't a success just because you have an ax to grind. Just like how you refused to acknowledge TP&TF was a moderate success because that goes against your agenda to combine it in the same bag with Wish, a film released 15 years later and with no other connection to TP&TF than the protagonist being a person if color.

Re: Aladdin 2
There you go again, stanning a mediocre box office flop that destroyed hand-drawn animation and nearly destroyed the fairy tale musical genre until Tangled, the actual successful film at the box office, saved Disney's legacy by its eyeteeth. But sure, drag that sorry excuse of a film in this unrelated thread because that's all you can do like Mr. D23 who feels the need to post his agenda in every unrelated thread since it's the only way to keep that frog relevant. Are you sure you both aren't the same person, since you seem way too sympathetic towards him and his flop plan to revive hand-drawn animation? I noticed you were the only person who didn't reprimand his behavior so weird how that works.... But back to the abominable character you keep dragging in, too bad so sad she will never be relevant and nobody has ever liked her, warts and all. Keep stanning a completely forgotten character that only Disney keeps pushing as part of its racist agenda. You and your party of one (or should I say two if we include your split personality Mr. D23). I'm sure he'll magically appear to post next to take the heat off of you.

I think you and I both know you're just thedisneyspirit, no need to project.
I don't need to make multiple accounts because I was never banned in the first place. And I did "reprimand" D23, btw, but I'm more sympathetic to someone genuine like them who unfortunately fall for the bait being posted to draw a reaction out of them than I am for someone who doesn't mean anything they say and is only looking to antagonize posters and start nonstop drama in every thread.

Re: Aladdin 2
I don't know who that is nor am I interested. Forum politics don't interest me, I'm just here to talk about things Disney. But many warned me that there would be forum politics if I interact with you which is why I try to refrain from commenting towards you. One user has just told me that D23 was on the spectrum. If you aren't him, and I still have my doubts about that, then I feel bad for judging him so harshly because he's a marginalized person and deserves sympathy and care instead of hate. We need to be kinder to people with disabilities because we will never experience what they experience and we are privileged to have them exist in our lives. If you don't like my posts, please don't respond to them. I have no intention of responding to your ones further. I've already been warned by users that I shouldn't respond to you because you have a habit of driving out others who preach the traditional ways and like the classic DPs and apparently that isn't allowed in this forum where you can only pretend the new Disney movies with an agenda are good. How horrible. If that's true, I promise you I don't have much desire to stick around in this place. A very kind user has already informed me of an alternative Disney forum (although it sounds like that place is even more obsessed with Disney's agendas so that may not be an improvement). Regardless of whether I choose to stick around or not, I would prefer not having anything to do with you. Take care of yourself and if you are willing to be civil in the future, I shall also be open to speaking to you again.Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 11:41 pm I think you and I both know you're just thedisneyspirit, no need to project.I don't need to make multiple accounts because I was never banned in the first place. Re: Aladdin 2
Well, that's a laugh because everyone here knows I love old films like Cinderella, Pinocchio, Dalmatians, and TSitS as much as new films like Frozen, Raya, TP&TF,and Encanto (and I have as little interest in new films like Big Hero 6, WIR, and Moana as I do in Snow White or Peter Pan). If anything, it seems like you're the one pushing an "old =good versus new = bad" agenda.

Re: Aladdin 2
That's all well and good although I'm genuinely not interested. I'm sure other people have better things to do on their hands than remember every movie you like or dislike so that really comes across as rather presumptuous of you. The users I enjoy talking to are kindred spirits and have said they like the old films and view around Lilo & Stitch/Treasure Planet to be the cutoff date for genuine Disney classics. Everything afterwards is new and garbage. I won't quote every such user as most of them speak to me privately but I will quote Carolinakid because I've seen him post publicly (as well as what he's told me individually) about how he hasn't watched the 2000s Disney movies or anything past that and I feel he's perfectly in the right for preserving his views of Disney and not letting them be tainted. I've said this to him personally and in public as well and am proud to have added my voice to his and others who feel similarly. If that's an agenda, then all I can say is accuse as much as you want. Everything except apparently Disney's real agendas. And now I think I should stick to what I said and really stop responding rather than this talking in circles. As I said before, take care.Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 12:17 am Well, that's a laugh because everyone here knows I love old films like Cinderella, Pinocchio, Dalmatians, and TSitS as much as new films like Frozen, Raya, TP&TF,and Encanto (and I have as little interest in new films like Big Hero 6, WIR, and Moana as I do in Snow White or Peter Pan). Well, that's interesting considering all your posts attack other posters for what they supposedly like or not. You can't then be angry when you're corrected when deliberately attempting to present a false impression of people for the sake of an agenda. That's all well and good although I'm genuinely not interested. According to The Disinsider, Aladdin 2 has been shelved.
https://thedisinsider.com/2025/06/30/th ... ana-jones/I would like to know about Cruella 2, Aladdin 2, Maleficent 3, The Jungle Book 2, Prince Charming, Queen of Hearts, Snow Queen and other live action movies.
Aladdin 2, Maleficent 3, Jungle Book 2, and Queen of Hearts have been shelved.
Snow Queen, which was on the drawing board years ago will end up being a faithful Frozen remake, which is definitly on Disney’s radar. As for Cruella 2, Disney wants to do it and the creatives want to return but everyone’s schedule is pretty busy at the moment.
