Re: Any Game of Thrones fans?
I like the new Daario. He has more personality than the first one, besides more in tune with the book.
It was an okay episode, but nothing "grand" I guess. These episodes are big fillers for the next big things to come/aftermaths of the grand events. Also, they feel very short, for some reason. I guess it's because they cram in all the storylines in one episode, featuring 1 scene per story, so it feels rather short.

Their take on the character is so different, but I still think they're both good actors (I've only seen Ed in this and Michiel in 'The Young Victoria' and this, but 'Treme', 'World War Z' and 'Orphan Black' will be eventually added to that list).PatrickvD wrote:Michiel is an improvement in terms of acting either way.
I disagree.PatrickvD wrote:Ed had no chemistry with her at all.
I think you meant "a better personality". I've heard Daario was very conceited in the books. Am I wrong? I'll say it again: Michiel is too likeable, in my opinion. It's a shame they didn't chain (pun intended) Ed to the show.thedisneyspirit wrote:He has more personality than the first one, besides more in tune with the book.

I definitely preferred Ed. I'm also one that wouldn't say he had no Chemistry with Emilia.
I liked Ed's long luscious locks. Too many men with beards with in this show already. Ed looked a bit different at least.

I'm with you totally.Old Fish Tale wrote:That was another fantastic episode, but I keep having a problem with the new Daario. Michiel and Ed don't look or act alike. It just confounds me. I guess I really hate recastings and this has to be the most noticeable yet

Wow, what a masterful episode! And now everyone knows who poisoned Joffrey: Petyr and Olenna. My favourite scene was the one with Margaery and Tommen. And Locke is making me nervous...

That ending was incredibly disturbing.
And Dany was acting like an idiot. I get that she wanted justice, but this is not the answer.

I think I liked this episode more than last one. And the last 20 mins and all the foreshadowing of future events at the wall are very nerve-wrecking...The stuff with the baby is just.

Re: Any Game of Thrones fans?
Besides the White Walker, let's be real, the most important thing about this episode is SER POUNCE!!!!

Agreed. That baby was a great actor, by the way.PatrickvD wrote:That ending was incredibly disturbing.
I thought it was deserved.PatrickvD wrote:I get that she wanted justice, but this is not the answer.
And Tommen is just as adorable as his cat.Avaitor wrote:Besides the White Walker, let's be real, the most important thing about this episode is SER POUNCE!!!!

Agreed! was a great episode! And that ending with White Walker and the Demon people turning the Baby And Bran, Hodor Jojen, and the sister being held captive.Old Fish Tale wrote:Wow, what a masterful episode! A lot of Book Purists are right pissed though. Apparently this is the most deviant episode the series has had with the stuff I just mentioned being completely new additions.
Ser Pounce! And Tommen is being just precious now. I like the new actor.

These are changes, but much better than those silly brothel scenes or that Jaime-Cersei rape scene last episode.

Disagreed. She removed them from power and that was what she wanted. All she did was show that she's no better than they are when she crucified them.Old Fish Tale wrote:I thought it was deserved.PatrickvD wrote:I get that she wanted justice, but this is not the answer.
I'm seeing parallels with Moses in her storyline. She desperately wants to do the right thing. Yes, she freed the slaves and as the 'mother of Dragons' she was chosen by destiny (fate, the Gods?), but she will not see the promised land.
Re: Any Game of Thrones fans?
Dany means well, but she has a serious God complex. It's something Martin's not afraid to call her out on, but the showrunners seem to be a little afraid of upsetting diehard Khaleesi stans.
For now, anyway.

Me too! It was a good recasting. Dean-Charles and Callum's take on the character is the same (I'm still looking at you, Michiel). And it helps we didn't see Tommen last season too.ajmrowland wrote:And Tommen is being just precious now. I like the new actor.
You know what would have made Daenerys as bad as the masters, in my opinion? If she nailed their children instead.PatrickvD wrote:All she did was show that she's no better than they are when she crucified them.

PatrickvD, I just remembered... How did you feel when Daenerys burned Kraznys alive and killed the other masters of Astapor last season?

I think we can all agree that, as the interviews said, she's at least started down a very dark path to becoming as bad as the Masters-if not worse.

Wasn't a fan of that either.Old Fish Tale wrote:PatrickvD, I just remembered... How did you feel when Daenerys burned Kraznys alive and killed the other masters of Astapor last season?
The thing is, she has a huge army and can actually remove people from power without much bloodshed. That is a gift and yet she feels it necessary to still kill people. I understand why, but the power is starting to corrupt her.

Re: Any Game of Thrones fans?
That was the most shocking episode of 'Game of Thrones' ever: in love with Petyr, Lysa set the show in motion by poisoning her husband, Ned's predecessor as the Hand of the King.
And Daenerys is failing too. That should make some people happy.

It's not about people being happy Dany fails, but it's just the show makes everything to turn her into some flawless superhero who does no wrong when she's a much more flawed and human character in the books.
This is jarring considering this series is hailed for using mostly morally grey characters, but then they go around and turn Tyrion and Dany into some perfect saints (let's not even get into Arya, heh), while villainizing characters like Jaime or Stannis.
That and I don't like her actress.

Re: Any Game of Thrones fans?
There's a scene in the fifth book where Tyrion was talking about Dany with some people, who were criticizing some of her decisions and bringing up the Targayren history, while Tyrion was telling them to not underestimate her., and that Dany might be the strongest one out there
Uh, dude, you don't know her. Why are you acting like her keeper?

No wrong? Have you forgotten what happened when she trusted Mirri in the first season and Xaro in the second season?thedisneyspirit wrote:It's not about people being happy Dany fails, but it's just the show makes everything to turn her into some flawless superhero who does no wrong when she's a much more flawed and human character in the books.
