Problem is, only governments can censor.

Authors and property owners don't censor -- they edit, or alter, or enhance, or change. Censorship is an official government order imposed on intellectual property.

If the US Government ordered Sunflower out of Fantasia, you'd have a point.

I haven't read much of this thread (honestly, just the first half of the first page before it got repetitive) but really, I don't mind if it's edited Sunflower or unedited Sunflower. The character's not too important to the grand scheme of things in "Pastoral Symphony", much less the entirety of Fantasia. While it'd be nice to see what audiences in 1940 saw, at the same time, it's such an inconsequential change that I can do without it. And honestly, Disney would rather spend the money to remove her and get some irate e-mails and phone calls from fans rather than keep her intact and deal with all the alleged* media drama from various groups who'll say they're offended by a 70-year-old caricature in a Disney film.

*because outside of Disney fandom, most people probably don't know, or don't give a rat's ass, about Sunflower. If any media drama occurs, it'll likely be on the fan-run-internet-news-site level rather than World News with Diane Sawyer level.

Following is not directed at Rudy Matt personally:
But if we are gone to censor Fantasia, digital zooming and editing is not the way as that ruins the viewing pleasure. As I would like them to find the original edit from the 1960's if they want present the Pastoral Symphony edited (by Walt is order or not (Im still not convinced on this matters until I see documents that prove other wise; who knows if the studio is telling the story as it fits them* :?),

Wile we are at this so Why don't we just go one step futher and just "delete" the Pastoral Symphony in whole and every other segments of the film beside the best part of it anyway The Sorcerer's Apprentice and save everybody form wasting almost 2 hours of there lives on illustrated music (none Sorcerer's Apprentice parts run for total of 115 minute wile Sorcerer's Apprentice would leave us with only 10 minute worth seeing anyway :)).

In that case, Rob Reiner should delete the last 20 minutes of When Harry Met Sally on future home video simply because I dislike it.

While we are at it as i find most parts of Titanic (1997) to be bore some so why don't they just delete everything of that film beside the part werethe ship sinks.

But in al seriousness deleting parts of films just to fit some random persons view are not the way to go since that would lead to further surpression and butchering of an original work, which is not the way to present and respect things in my view.

EXACTLY

If they feel they have to place a ridiculous self-censor on the 70-year old stereotype, fine, but lets be professional about it. Like it or not, artists spent time animating those centaurs, painting those cells and backgrounds. To just have someone zoom in is completely distracting and unprofessional. You want Sunflower gone, have at it, but you don't need to cut off 3/4 of the other centarette's body, it is just disrespectful of the original art (heck, they're reframing and redirecting the scenes). Digitally removing her is also distracting, seeing the carpet magiacally unravel itself, and ruins the fact that her movements were tied to the music.

Whatever they do, they're going to need to be professional about it, as the Blu-ray format will show any imperfections in their tampering if done poorly. Of course, I'm all for them showing the original version and not burying their past but I guess I could live with a well done edit or re-animation.
