Wal-Mart has some great deals this week on Blu-ray titles. I picked up for just $10: Drop Zone with Gary Busey and Wesley Snipes, Big Trouble in Little China with Kurt Russell, Blue Thunder with Malcolm McDowell and Roy Schieder, and for only $8 I picked up Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad.
Also Wal-Mart has some really cool two-packs on Blu-ray available and I picked up Planet of the Apes with Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowell and it was packed with the 2001 remake Planet of the Apes with Tim Roth and Mark Wahlberg.
Nice way to build the Blu-ray collection without breaking the bank.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!

Degrassi: The Next Generation, Season 2, $23.99, used, FYE.com
and
Degrassi: The Next Generation, Season 3, $16.99, used, FYE.com
There was a $10 off coupon code, so with tax, it was $32.99.
*edit*
From half.com: The O.C., Season 1, $10.00, used
The O.C., Season 2, $5.00, used (from the same seller, total = $19.88)
(Hopefully that's about what I made back when I sold them the first time. Ugh, stupid me.)

I get a lot of DVDs I don't post about here, but today I was so lucky to find an old Mystery Science Theater 3000 20th Anniversary deluxe edition! The tin box with the DVD set inside along with a Crow T. Robot bust/figure! I had been wanting one of these so badly, since getting the set with Tom Servo, but this one was long gone from store shelves! But, today I went to an out of the way Best Buy to look for Black Dynamite on Blu-Ray (no one has it!!!), and there I found the old MST3K tin on the shelf! It was in some roughed up plastic, but pretty good condition anyway! Even at 49.99, I grabbed it without a thought (and I tend to think of 19.99 for DVDs as splurging these days, usually getting 3 dollar ones at Big Lots). Yeah, it was a really lucky day for me when that happened (till I came home and found out Hilary Duff got engaged *grumble*).
Anyway, I also finally got 101 Dalmatians (live action) on DVD, since all our Best Buys only had 1 copy each, and I didn't want to miss it. Expect a Blu-Ray release now though, since I bought the standard, ha. I still need to get the sequel's new release (I have the old release, but in fullscreen, which I bought on accident), but they have tons of it at Best Buy.
And, since I'm talking about recent purchases, I also finally got Peanuts 60's collection, plus My Pet Monster the complete series, the Last Starfighter on Blu, Flash the complete series, Star Trek on Blu, Inglorious Basterds on Blu, Wolverine on Blu, Serenity on Blu, Zombieland on Blue, and Resident Evil 2 on Blu, among other stuff. Still can't find the original "House on Sorority Row" in stores anywhere.

Just got Jennifer's Body and Fame on blu-ray at Target for 12.99 each. I really only got Fame because Kay Panabaker is in it. I don't know if I'll ever watch it, because I never was into the old one. Not a "drama" or "chick flick" guy, ha. I do watch a lot of those anyway, but I don't know, the old Fame always looked unappealing to me, which is really hurting my openness to the new one.

Fargo (Blu-ray) - $9.99

Bonnie and Clyde (Blu-ray) - $14.99
Both of those were from Best Buy.

The Informant! (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) - $24.99 at Wal-Mart. I need to take it back; the slipcover has the "Blu-ray - DVD - Digital Copy Combo Pack!" sticker on it and there's a paper slip inside with instructions to redeem the digital copy, but the DVD + Digital Copy disc is missing.

Cheers,
JM
