Vicky Cristina Barcelona - Oh, wow. I ADORED it! It was so good, and way better than expected. The scenery and music was breathtaking, and Penelope Cruz really deserved that Oscar, though I think Rebecca Hall may have deserved it more. Scarlett Johannssen was great, too.

This isn't a movie, but I just watched the Snoopy's Reunion DVD, and liked it.

The Ex - I thought this would be a really "dumb comedy", like most in its genre are, but I REALLY liked this one! Zach Braff and Amanda Peet give great performances, as do Amy Poehler, Amy Adams, and Paul Rudd!

The Raven (1963): Has nothing to do with the Poe poem it thinks it relates to, but it's lots of fun just the same. A campy fantasy/comedy film more than a horror one with Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff and a young Jack Nicholson whom I didn't recognize at first.

Marley & Me- the advertising is a little misleading, but it was a nice film. I enjoyed how it balanced the comedy and the drama. A nice film, but the nature of it will keep it sitting on my shelf for a few months.

The Prestige - I really liked it. It was confusing, but I'm pretty sure I figured it out by the end, which was also very surprising.

There wasn't much to figure out. He had a twin. Jackman kept killing himself. The end.

First of all, spoilers much?

Second of all, unless you had been spoiled (much like everyone who is reading your post has been), you wouldn't have known Christian Bale's character had a twin. And Jackman's character didn't even have a twin, so I honestly don't know what you're talking about.

I know Bale's character had a twin, that's who I'm referring to. Please show me where I said that Jackman had a twin.

The original 1975 documentary is on DVD (via Criterion Collection) if you're interested in that.

Anyway...

"The Thorn Birds", Part II - only two more parts to go, though this one did feel a bit dragging towards the end. B+

The Graduate - always a joy to watch for the stellar performances from Hoffman, Bancroft, and Ross. A+

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - fun and quirky without trying too hard. A-

Ratatouille(commentary). Oftentimes, I'll turn on a DVD commentary to help pass the time when doing something else, or when I'm just bored.
