That's rather funny. All movies become historical the day after they are released. They are part of the social environment when they are released. Even if the movie dosn't portray a historical event it still becomes history. Like it or not a movie, like The Epic Movie, is now part of history. Signficant or not, it is still part of history.

The Song of the South shows a part of the social climate of the time the film depicts. The film may not be accurate, but remember it is still fiction.
