This video choked me up a bit:

Patents Suggest Pixar Developing Next-Gen Motion Capture
http://www.bigscreenanimation.com/2011/ ... -next.html
Uhhh, I mean, I guess if anyone can possibly do mo-cap correctly, it'd be Pixar, but I'm still not a big mo-cap fan (although Avatar was great, and even A Christmas Carol's mo-cap didn't bother me too much if I recall correctly, and the mo-cap in the trailer for The Adventures of Tin-Tin doesn't look awful...).
Time will tell what Pixar will do with this!

Surprised Pixar and John Lasseter would do something related to motion-capture, especially with that tag at the end of Ratatouille.
And you should definitely see The Adventures of Tintin. Not only is the film as a whole fantastic, but the motion-capture is absolutely incredible and I think even tops WETA's own work in Avatar.

I'm not really feeling the Nemo one, but I really like the others!

I just wanted to give you guys an update on Ratatouille 3D. I took the liberty and asked Brad Bird what's going on with the project and that's how the discussion that started from my question turned out.
As it turns out, the "conversion" has been ready since 2010 (at least) and it's in similar fashion as the TS 1+2 3D meaning it's a true 3D re-render and not just a cheap cash-in like so many other studios opt for these days!
I can't wait to get my hands on it!

“@leon_diz: any news on the Ratatouille 3D conversion? ” Done a long time ago (very good 3D). Showing at EuroDisney in Paris. Beyond that--?
@BradBirdA113 So the Ratatouille ride IS officially comingNot yet showing in Paris; ride is still under construction.
@BradBirdA113 Is it a conversion, or can you "add" a stereo camera and re-render?
@ohheh We add a 2nd camera & re-render. It's true 3D. In fact we tweaked the composition of 20-30 shots to improve it for 3D. Worked well!
