Well, I grew up with both Cinderella and Alice consecutively. I know I saw Cinderella first only because I don't remember my first viewing of it, but I remember (what I believe to be) my first viewing of Alice. I watched both films dozens of times. Cinderella would get watched by me literally every day without fail, which drove my family insane. Alice was watched by me probably every couple of days (along with Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, and Robin Hood). When I was about 8 or 9, I got new furniture in my room. Somehow, the Alice tape got left in my old cabinet that I kept VHS tapes in. When the film was re-released on VHS in 1999, I bought it, watching it for the first time in about three years. It was then that I fell head-over-heels for Alice, especially since I understood things that when over my head as kid. From then on out, Alice became my number one favorite, getting watch by me literally every day for a long period of time similarly to my Cinderella streak as a little kid. Cindy's now my 5th favorite (Pooh and Beauty and the Beast got elevated when I re-discovered them as a teen while Hunchback had been my top favorite in between the Cindy and Alice periods).Disney Duster wrote:I'm really happy you like my idea, because your opinion matters to quite a lot. I had no idea Cinderella was at one time your favorite Disney movie, but that would explain the long writing about it. When did Alice come on top? Had you never seen it until then?
