Two years ago, Walmart had it in amongst the Christmas movies and I wanted to pick it up. However, when I returned the next day, all copies were gone. I didn't see it anywhere last year in any of the holiday movie displays. Anyone seen it in stores this year?
Same question as last year. Has anyone seen Babes in any of the Christmas movie racks anywhere? Walmart? Future Shop?
I was raised on this film, via a recording my mom had made off the television in the early 80s. And shortly after it came out on dvd I had purchased the dvd release, definitely one of the best films to ever come out of Disney. Tommy Sands/Annette Funicello had great chemistry the score was amazing. And Ray Bolger was amazing in an against character role as Evil Barnaby. If you haven't ever seen it a definite must watch.

I hope Walt's "Babes in Toyland" gets a special edition release for the 50th anniversary next year!
Wow. 50 years next year? I might hold-off then in case they release a better edition.
It's too bad it's not on the shelves with other Christmas DVDs right now. I went to HMV today and saw The Santa Clause in their Christmas section but not Babes. Oh well I guess there is always Amazon, but I'll hold off until next year if it's celebrating an anniversary.
Ok don't jump on me for being a killjoy but, I personally don't see a 50th Anniversary Edition being released as it was never a major Disney Classic. Not saying it doesn't deserve some special treatment as I have said in my previous post I think this is one of the most wonderful Disney films ever produced but just don't see a special edition coming anytime soon. Just greatful for the dvd release that is available, granted not the best of quality and wish it could have been in its OAR but hey at least it was released on dvd.

^Probably that's so, but they could do a lot more with marketing this title (especially during the holidays) if it got the same DVD treatment as other Disney musicals. Maybe with Blu-Ray we'll see an upgrade?
