The closest place near me that is playing The Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D is in Peoria IL which is about 3 hours away from where I live. So I am paying for gas food and tickets for my dad to drive me and we will both go see the movie tomorrow. We will have to leave about 3 hours or possibly 4 hours before the showtime but will be worth it. I tried ordering tickets for it online but that service must be down for some reason. (My dad is driving since I don't have a driver's license mainly because I don't want one)

I remember that when I was in the 1st grade My mom and dad had my entire 1st grade class over to celebrate my birthday. The Theme of the Birthday was The Nightmare Before Christmas. I had a huge Jack Skellington Balloon that was not just your typical round one but it had boney legs and it was taller than me. I guess if I remember right it was about 4 - 6 feet long. It was fun.

Hey all. I don't know who all's from NC, but I was told that the Bright Leaf Drive-In Theater in Mt. Airy will get Nightmare this Friday. Is anyone familiar with the theater, and if so, is it possible that it has 3-d projectors as an outdoor facility?

And, anyone going?

I might be seeing this tonight, otherwise tomorrow or Sunday. I'm very excited. I've been listening to the soundtrack in my Jeep for the past three days. I'm so excited.

The Newspaper ads say that "Knick Knack" will be released in 3D with this movie as will be the 3D "Meet the Robinsons" trailer

I've actually never seen it before, but since they are doing a theatrical re-release, I'll have to check it out this time.

Well, I just checked sources for where it'd play in my area, and unfortunately, the closest areas are either in North Jersey or beyond Philly. So I've got the predicament of whether or not I should spend 40 minutes driving north or driving west just to see a film in 3D.

Why they hell couldn't they play this at Regal Turnersville?

Maybe none of the Regals picked it up as none of them by me are showing it either and usually they play movies that don't get too wide of a release. The closest showing is 50 miles away for me so I'm not going.

Actually, I just got home from seeing it at a Regal cinema in Illinois. It was AMAZING!!!!! There was so much depth. Nothing really popped out of the screen (except for the new opening telling people to put on their glasses) but it was still awesome. At the end, the crowd went nuts in applause! The theater was so packed that my family had to split up into three groups of two. That was annoying and there were some teenagers behind me who knew the film line for line and wouldn't stop saying the lines even though I kept giving them the universal sign to shut up(you know, the look over the shoulder in annoyance). lol. But it wasn't enough to ruin the experience for me. We drove an hour away to see it. I think it's worth the 80 minute round trip, Escapay.

Escapay... I Just got back from seeing the movie and I paid my dad to drive me to the ONLY theater that was playing the movie in southern IL closest to Saint Louis which is Peoria IL and it took a three hour drive. I paid for food gas and tickets so basicly it cost me about $75 I had when I left and I came home with $1. It took 3 hours to get there. I loved It. I only wish a theater near me that would play it is 40 miles away but instead the only one that plays it near Saint Louis i Peoria which is roughly 150 miles away. Also we talked to the the ticket booth person and they said they just got off the phone from someone who was coming to see the movie who was also from the Saint Louis Area. So YOU SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY CRAZY ONE HEE HAA HEE HAA HOO HOO!!

Also in my opinion it defintley popped out in espically Christmas Town and when Jack is on his sleigh/slay Ride. It was excellent and I Highly reccomend you going Escapay. Perhaps you could offer to pay for the gas torwards the trip like I did. Of course Gas was only $30 since my dad drives a chevy avaeo which gets about 35 miles to the gallon I think. Also tell your mom how far me and my dad drove to see it round trip. I think your whole family would enjoy it. It certainly Is a once in a life time experience unless your closer than 300 miles round trip. LOL...

I sat pretty close to the screen (the furthest away from the screen where there were 2 seats available) so that could be why nothing really poped out for me. Although I didn't hear anybody gasping like you do at Phillarmagic or Muppet Vison 3-D.

Does it matter if I wear glasses and have to wear the 3-D ones over it? XD I don't know if I can suffer with chipped contact lens for so long...

And I found out this movie is playing in a local theatre. WIN. One of my friends has never seen this movie so definitely gonna drag her along...

I have watched 3-D before with glasses underneath my 3-D glasses and it was no problem.

I saw the film last night--I had to drive 45 minutes each way to watch the film. I thought it was pretty neat. As has been stated, the film doesn't come out like Philharmagic, but there is a sense of depth in the screen. It is like the screen itself is the closest plane (or it is plain?) and there are several layers behind it.

Something else that I finally noticed but maybe I am dumb and everyone else already figured this out. I believe it is alluded to in the interview but I just comprehend before--this release is from Walt Disney Pictures, not Touchstone. The name Touchstone has been completely eliminated from the film.

The short before the film was fun too. It was cool in 3-D.

Oh yeah, there was also a preview for Meet the Robinsons in 3-D.

I saw it last night, it was a lot of fun. The theatre down the street just got disney digital 3d over the summer, starting with Monster House. I would have had to drive about an hour last year, if I wanted to see Chicken Little in 3d. The thing is, these movies arnt originaly meant to be made in 3d, so there wasnt much stuff flying out at you, though I would say the 3d does make movie feel more alive. Knick Knack was also nice surprize.

Oh yeah. I forgot something I wanted to say and I owe it to MichaeLeah for reminding me. The film opened with the new Walt Disney Pictures logo that premiered in front of POTC Dead Man's Chest. It was in 3-D and very neat to see. After that, the original "Touchstone Pictures Presents" was replaced by a red "Walt Disney Pictures Presents." Also, there was nothing added to the film itself, but before the 3-D version of Pixar's Knick Nack, there was a Halloween Jack-in-the-box that counted down from 3 to 1 and then an evil looking pumpkin jumped out at the audience. That was cool.

Also, there was a woman near me who worked for a marketing company and she was observing the audiences reactions to the trailors. Kids around me expressed little interest for the other CG films, but the audience responded well to the 3-D Meet The Robinsons trailor. Judging by how crowded TNBC was last night, I hope it does well enough to get At World's End in 3-D!!!!!

Hopefully if TNBC does well enough, we will eventually see a DAC get a digital 3-D treatment. That would be so cool. I wonder if they can make a 2-D hand drawn cartoon 3-D. I don't see why they couldn't.

. Also I think I will hang onto the PSP version of nightmare and the SE DVD of the movie since it's intro is differ meaning that instead of Touchstone pictures it says Walt Disney instead. I sure hope when Nightmare Before Christmas is re-released that it will be a 2-disc. Also I Hope that the mini documentary that has surfaced online about how Disney transformed it for it's 3-D Debut is in it even if the DVD is not in 3-D. I would download it my self but my dial up is only 56K and its a slow boat to china downloading stuff.

Also I guess I guess it did make the character stand closer to you rather than Pop Out but in my opinion thats 3D. Although it is nothing like at an amusement park such as That Honey I Shrunk the Audience and Universal's Shrek 4-D but again those are an amusement park attractions... Not a Movie. But I think the 3-D was better than Spy Kids 3D- Game Over although those glassess that came with the 3rd Spy Kids looked like they came out of a cereal box LOL.

I will be seeing Nightmare hopefully in the next week or so. Luckily, my local theatre is playing it, since it got a 3-d projector earlier this year.

Anyways, I would go the distance to see the film if it wasn't showing near me. I went 45 miles to see Howl's Moving Castle.

I agree! Show some fandom guys! Even two other Disney forums I go to lacked any excitement. It's a bit of a shame The Little Mermaid got like 100's of threads a week since mid-2005 and then 1000's of pages a day in 2006 while Nightmare seems to lack excitement for one thread. When it's a far superior movie, just IMO though.

Well anyway, I was fearful since Chicken Little wasn't showing near me in 3D, but thankfully, my closest and favorite theater is showing it! I actually went tonight to get tickets tonight, but guess what: sold out!

So as soon as I got home, I bought a ticket for 11:15 in the morning tomorrow.

Can't wait! I'll even wear my Jack Skellington pin!

Well I came back from it not too long ago, it was SPECTACULAR!

I don't think I need to write a review to tell you it's genuis. To me, just seeing it for the first time on the big screen was a treat, but the 3D was an awesome touch. To be honest, I'm still amazed how they turned a 13 year old movie into 3D when it wasn't intended, definitely amazing. A shame they have no plans to put the 3D version on DVD(I wonder why, is it technically not possible?).

And let me say, I'm glad they put the Walt Disney logo on it as well, it deserves it. Seeing the new one in 3D was also cool, I know a certain music radio fan will love it.

The only flaw was putting Knick Knack in front of it. They needed something Halloween or Christmas related in 3D, Knick Knack just didn't fit.
