Lion King R1 Review Online (DVDFile)

It's kinda is a fullproof way to see if things have already been posted. Yeeeeeeeeah, so I'll make sure you get that memo. Thanks, Starion.Starion wrote:I try to do a search before I post the links.
Oh yeeeah, I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday. We kinda have to play catch up. So if you could just come in Sunday too, that would be greeeeeeat. Thaaaanks.
Yay, Bill!! I mean... Jack!
Couldn't of said it better myself. Hehe... seriously, though Starion - I think it'd be better if you, uh, interacted more with the threads you post stuff in, so as to avoid redundant news alerts. I'd love to hear an opinion from you now and then.

Hi Paka, I'm gona come back on Saturday so that Jack and I can catch up.Paka wrote:Couldn't of said it better myself. I wish Disney would put in the Original and Imax trailers on the DVD. Even Beauty and the Beast has more trailers than The Lion King. The Making of The Lion King would be really nice too! I don't know if that is the same as: "Lion King: A Musical Journey with Elton John."
At least Disney put the commentary featuring producer Don Hahn, and directors Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff. Unfortunately, the DVD does not include the commentary by art director Randy Fullmer that is on the Deluxe CAV Letterbox Edition.
The Sleeping Beauty DVD has a restoration clip. Why not have a similar clip on the Lion King? The DVD sound production clip sounds nice, but I'd love to hear about the video clean up efforts too.
The only trailer I have on DVD is the one on my Spirited Away DVD.
What's funny is how some of the reviews contradict each other. One reviewer says that there are artifiacts in the video, while another says that the picture is perfect.
I gotta go now. Later
I think Starion is a vegatable. He just sits at his computer and stares (that's why he's called Starion, get it?) He doesn't acknowledge you, and posts as if you weren't even there.Paka wrote:Hehe... seriously, though Starion - I think it'd be better if you, uh, interacted more with the threads you post stuff in, so as to avoid redundant news alerts. Here's a picture of him
Just kiddin', Starion. We love ya, buddy.
Yay, Starey Man!!
For a second, I thought you were half-serious about that pic, Jack. Hehe... vegetable. It's funny 'cause it's not me.
Must resist clicking that link again... too... funny... O_O
Anywho, totally agree with you on the extras, Starion. I mean, no trailers, for pete's sake!! Grr... and how many potential promos would there have been? Ads from June '94, November '94, January '95, the IMAX ads, the Platinum's release... and we get nothing.
The reviews seem to say that about the only thing to look forward to on the disc is the sound and picture. And when we don't even get the true theatrical cut, well... kinda puts a damper on the "nice picture" thing. *gag*

The do include the restoration process but you have to buy the Collector's Gift Set that's the only way you can get it!Starion wrote: The Sleeping Beauty DVD has a restoration clip. Phil - Thanks! The Horseman's for festivity's sake.
It took me forever to make that banner from this image, what with my primitive MS Paint and HP Image Editor programs.
Now how much you wanna bet that Luke's gonna yell at me for using up bandwidth, and make me take it down? Heh... it'd be just my luck.

The banner won't be using any additional bandwidth for the image, as hosted on an external website, not UltimateDisney.
None of the images posted in posts add to the bandwidth issues (unless you link to UltimateDisney hosted images)
And your Avatar is a modest 4K.

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

That's what I thought, but I've yelled at before for putting pics in my sig on other forums, even though they're hosted on my Village Photos accounts. Wasn't sure if sig pics were allowed or not - for bandwidth or whatever other reason. ^_^2099net wrote:^^

Yup, I kept to the 140x140 rule with that one - heck, I had to. LOL!2099net wrote:And your Avatar is a modest 4K.
It's such a dark image that I was afraid it might lose detail and become more obscure if I made it any smaller. *shrug*

Yeah I was looking for a more festive one myself, I was looking for one with Mickey in a pumpkin, like a shot from Mickey's Garden, at the end his torso is in a pumkin. But anyway, I'm happy with the Avatar I have now, I had been waiting a while to use it. I actually think I did use it for like an hour or something, but wanting to keep with the sleeping beauty theme many of my avatars had, i changed it, but now it's back to this, the Mickey featured is the one from Plane Crazy, his actual first short, and I love the style!!! Plus I wanted to commemorate his 75th B-Day while there was still time.Paka wrote:Phil - Thanks! The Horseman's for festivity's sake.
Well it looks great! Good job!Paka wrote:It took me forever to make that banner from this image, what with my primitive MS Paint and HP Image Editor programs.![]()
Defy Gravity
Is this the image?

Found it using the Google image search. Played with using it myself, but then I wanted to do something a bit... darker.
