ALL his money on DVDs? Gee, he must have a special diet of air and tap water then, if he's not buying food! And I guess he gets free electricity and gas, and has a special car that doesn't need refueling on gas or oil.
I'd say he has a good-paying job, and that he's been collecting since 97/98, when DVDs became mainstream. But not that all his money goes to DVDs. If he were mooching off his parents, yeah, probably, but he must have a job of some sort to afford all of those shiny discs.
Escapay or Zulu or Frozone

Sorry it has taken so long for me to respond to your comments. I have been at the movie theater for the past two days seeing 12 films including "Chicken Little". Hopefully it does well in the BO of the weekend.
There are a lot of questions, comments and e-mails that I need to respond to so I'll take this slow. First off, I got a couple of e-mails saying that my e-mail address wasn't always coming up right, so those of you who wanted to send an e-mail for anything, it is ultimatefilmfan@yahoo.com.
Here it goes to end the rumors,
I got a couple of e-mails wondering how my DVDs were divided throughout the room. That can be quite complicated because everything is in a section.
On the two tall shelves Top: All Academy Award winners from 1927-2004. 2nd: AFI top 100 movies. 3rd: AFI Top 100 Thrillers. 4th: Drama/Action and Comedy series. 5th: Drama and Comedy TV series. 6th: AFI Top 100 Passions and Comedies. 7th: AFI Top 100 Songs, Quotes and Heroes and Villains. 8th: Different collector's editions and odds and ends.
The four shelves along the wall are all regular keep cases in alphabetic order.
In the back are the snapper cases which are also in alphabetic order, as well as all of Woody Allen’s, Clint Eastwood, Stephen King and horror section. Also all of Charlie Chaplin’s, James Bond, X-Files, and Star Trek series.
In the room next to my movie room I have some more DVDs. I have run out of space in my main room and have had to overflow into the other. I have all of my Live Disney’s and other children’s DVDs out there as all as every Hitchcock film available.
I obviously have all of my animated Disney films in the front of the main room. Yes I noticed the wrong order of the films shortly after I posted. My little sister came and got some films the other day and doesn’t know the chronological order of the films.
To answer some more questions. I do have a lock on the door, for insurance purposes I must keep it locked at all times. So no one gets in without permission. I do have a check out system, so I know where every DVD goes.
Have I seen a lot of the films, but not all of them. At one time I had seen the vast majority of my films, but once I started collecting heavily (AFI etc.) I have not been able to keep up. I do not sleep much, so that’s one reason I really got into film.
I do keep all of the outer covers etc. I have hundreds and hundreds of them. I don't like selling my collector's items on ebay.
I get A LOT of my films through Columbia House. I can get DVD's usually for around 3-5 dollars with the deals I get. Also online sites have so great deals.
Well I think that's all for now. Some people wanted to know how I keep track of all of the films. I know what films I own and could tell you exactly where it is on my room. I do database everything in Excel on my laptop. I have the ratings, times, years, lang/subs, Color/B&W, studios, ratios, 16x9, soundtracks, sides, layers, cases and color of cases all recorded. Several people asked my to send it to them, hope that helps.
I started out with a post and ended with an essay, sorry about that. I will try to keep up with questions better.

Nope, everything you see film wise in the photos are all mine. In fact my parents have never been big film fans. Ironically they really only bought Disney films for me growing up, which is where my love of Disney and film started.I bet that's all his family collection and relatives collection too.

When I build my own home I will certainly have a theater room, but I am a 22 year old student and wont be building a home while I’m attending school. I am on a film scholarship at the University of Utah, by the way. With a collection like that I would make the ultimate home theatre room.
I actually did just buy a new Mazda 6, so I can mark that off my list.I would have bought a new car.
Like I said I'm actually a film student at the UofU. I take over 20 credits a semester and work when I can. My father owns several company’s so it works great to work when I can. I haven't thought about selling my soul, but you never know.I wonder what kind of job he has or if he sold his soul for all that money.
I like a clean organized appearance for my movies; therefore, I do make sure all of my Disney's are all white cases, except my Disney Treasures which I try to keep in their original case. Everything has to look pristine; I hate it when people put things out of order while I'm not looking. It happens with my AFI's all the time.I like your total disregard for the slipcovers and cases...you could make some cash on here with all those slipcovers and boxes
I do keep all of the outer covers etc. I have hundreds and hundreds of them. I don't like selling my collector's items on ebay.
I try to stay clothed whenever possible, but ya know . . . lolyou have no clothes
As much as I love movies I'm a pretty well rounded guy. If you look at the photo of the front of the room, you'll see part of my CD collection. I own well over 1000 CD's as well including all of the Disney soundtracks available. Maybe I'll take some pictures of those. But it's true I put a large amount of money into my collections.Ultimatemovie4000Guy probably only spends money on DVDs.
I get A LOT of my films through Columbia House. I can get DVD's usually for around 3-5 dollars with the deals I get. Also online sites have so great deals.
That's true I don't with my school and social life, I only have time usually nights to catch up. With all of the TV series I am trying to get through it makes it even harder. Like I said earlier I have seen most of the films, but not all. I see almost everything when it's released in theaters so I see a lot that way. I do movies day's where I get 6-7 movies in a day like this weekend.that guy doesn't have all the time in the world to watch all those DVD's.

Although I have nothing close to being called a "DVD collection," I can certainly marvel at the fine collections of others without feeling upset when someone has more than I do.
As ultimate's signature note says, is there someone out there with more than you? Probably.

Pals, that's perhaps even more rude than your original comments. Why do you need to be rude at all?MickeyMousePal wrote:Disney Fan 2000 Wrote:

And um, the thread IS called Post a photo of your Disney DVD Collection. Which he did. Hardly showing off. And I remember you continually telling everyone here that you had all 44 animated classics. I'm sure that counts as showing off.
Rude, immature, uncalled for. Someone's definitely jealous.MickeyMousePal wrote:Can he keep his comments to himself. I get the point he's rich maybe he'll be the next Bruce Wayne.
Ultimatefilmfan, I'm so sorry that you had to defend your collection. This is totally not the way UD is, we usually gasp in awe at large collections (before you, dvdjunkie had the honor of largest collection), and a few of us said some...regrettable things. But it doesn't mean all of us are jealous (heck, we all are, but we don't go around insulting you). Have fun posting at UD and always be sure to update us on your latest acquisitions with The New DVD Thread in Off-Topic.

I agree with Disneyfan 2000 and Escapay, Pals, you were a little rude there.
Just ignore MickeyMousePal, ultimatefilmfan.
Um, Pals, all he did was post his DVD collection. That's what people do in this thread. He wasn't trying to show off; he was just showing us his DVD collection like we were all doing. You had no reason to criticise him for having a big DVD collection.MickeyMousePal wrote:I'm only rude to the new members who are showoffs.
In case you hadn't noticed, you were the one that made him comment in the first place because you started asking him questions and judging him.MickeyMousePal wrote:Can he keep his comments to himself.

Well I only said I have all 44 animated DVD's I didn't say I had 5,000.
Plus I didn't say my dad had a business and I'm taking 20 units at Utah University.
Well sorry for my rudeness tonight but one of my close friend just died today because he was going to buy DVD's and died in a car accident.

Still, the point is you said you are rude to showoffs, yet you continually pimped your 44-animated-classics collection.MickeyMousePal wrote:Well I only said I have all 44 animated DVD's I didn't say I had 5,000.
That has nothing to do with you being rude, ultimatefilmfan was merely answering everyone's questions as to how he can afford DVDs and that yes, he does have a life outside of them. I don't think he's bragging by stating his dad has a business and he takes 20+ credits. He's just answering a question.MickeyMousePal wrote:Plus I didn't say my dad had a business and I'm taking 20 units at Utah University.
Sorry for your friend, but maybe instead of being rude on the messageboard you should have some quiet time to think and reflect about your friend instead of taking out your anger at us. Your friend's in my prayers tonight, and hopefully you can cool down a bit by tomorrow.MickeyMousePal wrote:Well sorry for my rudeness tonight but one of my close friend just died today because he was going to buy DVD's and died in a car accident.

The only reason he said that is because YOU said he probably sold his soul to get the money for those DVDs. He was only pointing out that he didn't "sell his soul." He answered your rude posts incredibly nicely for what you said, he was just defending himself against the fact that you pretty much insulted something that is obviously important to him.MickeyMousePal wrote:Plus I didn't say my dad had a business and I'm taking 20 units at Utah University.
Ultimatefilmfan- I'm incredibly impressed. And although I don't think you were bragging... I think you should have every right to
And I second Krystal on adding the group hug emoticon. We seem to need it.

Yeah, well he does have 4,000 DVDs, its a fact. He is merely pointing that out. We all know you are jealous. He was NEVER bragging. He was merely posting his DVD collection (the purpose of the thread) and just answering questions. In fact, I think YOU are the one who is always bragging on the forum by repeating that you have "all the animated classics on DVD". Ultimatefilmfan didn't come to this forum to be insulted. Sorry that your friend died, but that I think you should not release your catharsis on internet message boardsMickeyMousePal wrote:Well I only said I have all 44 animated DVD's I didn't say I had 5,000.

And please don't add irrelevant posts like "Hey Krystal come to MSN Messenger now!!!!" after Krystal's post. I've seen these posts in other threads. If you really want to talk to her, call her or something or email her.
