Ugh, I leave for a while to focus on exams and stuff, and I was expecting to come back to see new news or art for the movie. Obviously that didn't turn out the way I wanted it to :P. At least we know the trailer is done...hopefully.

Anyways about the clipart being too feminine...We have to remember, no matter how much Disney tries to hide it, Rapunzel will be one of the official Disney Princesses, and that line obviously won't be leaving anytime soon. And all the clipart weve seen has the disney princess "Disney logo" on them, so those are for girls to see. Those pieces of clipart will probably be on doll cases and such, and not where most boys will see it.

Now I wait and wait until someone leaks the trailer online, because Disney won't be showing it to us anytime soon!

Thanks guys, there was a lot of guess-work on that one. *faints*

I think you're right there. Actually, I'm pretty sure most of those pics that the DisneyFan blog has been posting (and watermarking the hell out of) are from the upcoming merchandise/doll boxes.

Hmmm. I hope there's no more pop music. This means we should be seeing it soon.
Apparently they used the remix of Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation" for the trailer... :(

Yeah, releasing it opposite Harry Potter is almost like suicide, unless they do a nice little bit of cross-promotion like they did when Monsters Inc was competing alongside the first Harry Potter. Remember when they played this preview before The Philosopher's Stone? They should do the same thing when Deathly Hallows is released.

That's a great idea, estefan.

But all this Tangled marketing is intimidating.Disney is practically advertising only one or two scenes in the trailers, especially the "manly" scenes.

Teaser trailer:zooming into the tower

New trailer:Rapunzel tying up Flynn

Seriously, this is very vague. It's like showing a trailer for Lord of the Rings of only Sam hitting an orc on the head.Ofcourse,I know there is no leaked script, but just by the bad marketing, people are getting the wrong idea.Rapunzel is just tying up Flynn because he rudely broke into her room not because she's trying to be a ninja or Doc-Ock.

That's exactly the association I have whenever I hear the title 'Tangled'.

Speaking of Hoodwinked....the sequel looks to be postponed due to Weinstein VS Kanbar Entertainment due to rights issues....this could mean the Burger King Toys are going to be collectable and actually valuable other than being at a thrift shop if this movie doens't come out they coulFd be worth a lot in the future and could sell for lots on ebay int he future (hey what's that the ghost of Facilier look over there ( now I'll dart out the back forum door while everyone looks for Facilier's Ghost.. and head to ebay to buy hoodwinked toys to make myself rich for the future ...oh wait you didn't fall for the Ghost story and you just heard my plan...uhh....fiddlesticks :shifty: )

I do love the new artwork (and I especially love the editing job several of you guys have done!) I am getting more and more excited for this film, as far as visuals go. (Story-wise, I'm not sure, at least until I see some substantial plot description, or the full trailer, etc...) If these recent images (like the one with her swinging on her hair) are any indication, Tangled will be THE most visually impressive animated effort from the studio!

And I agree with many of you here: Rapunzel has the undisputed Glen Keane look to her!

Cool! Rapunzel looks really pretty! Though, this makes me wonder what kind of stuff Flynn's going to be in...

Wow, they really are doing a terrible job at trying to market this film towards boys. Am I the only person who thinks the merchandise department didn't get the memo?

Also, not to get peoples' spirits up, but I wonder if the "LOGO NOT FINAL" appearing over the title, means there is a possibility of them changing it back to Rapunzel.

Well, it's not as if Disney is going to release a film with a Princess in it and the merchandising dept isn't going to cash in on it.

I am surprised that there isn't anything on Flynn yet. No action figures or books.

This whole situation is so confusing....

Those images are really nice, actually. I love how almost every one has "Tangled" stuck up in the corner and "RAPUNZEL'S..." way bigger and more noticeable.

As for the "Logo Not Final" thing... That makes me want to get my hopes up a little, but I'm going to try not to. Best case scenario: they still haven't completely made up their mind and there's a chance of a change back. Next best case scenario: the name is still "Tangled", but the logo actually does get changed to something more interesting and inspired. I mean, most of us on this board could make that logo. Compare that to the "Princess and the Frog" logo. It's on a whole different level. I hope we see something better than just flat colors and block letters.

Yay for the new pics! I like the top two, and it's interesting to finally see how the chin-on-her-hand-pose actually looks without being all covered up.

Even if they're keeping the Tangled name, I'm sure the logo on these pics is just a placeholder (as the "not final" suggests). There's no way it's going to remain a flat black, even if the font itself stays the same it's gonna have some kind of texture, shadows, and highlights.

Right column, second one from the top:

Disney Tangled RAPUNZEL: The Magical Story

Looks like they want us to know the story is about Rapunzel. As far as the logo not final thing, I'd be much happier if it said title not final. Using the word logo only suggests the design is not final, not the title, and that would explain them using the plain black filler logo. They're probably debating color, texture, contrast, and whether it should be 3D or 2D.

Exactly. If it remains flat in the final I'll eat my hat. :p

I seriously doubt they're going back on the name change at this point regardless.

Guys, don't, just don't. the title is here to stay. Stop looking for loopholes, stop kidding yourselves. you might say your not going to get your hopes up, but the fact that you even bring it up tells me you still think there's a chance.

The sooner you accept the new name the sooner we can move on with our lives. the logo will change in a similar way that the princess and the frog changed in its final stages, they'll make subtle changes in color and font but that's it.

Anyway, wow, I cant believe I haven't seen that Monsters inc thing until now, haha. that was awesome.
